There's multiple articles regarding what he did and a video interview with one of the pizza shops he tried to sabotage - the one where there were 2-police officers there having lunch when he entered and planted the mice

What ever happened to good-natured rivalry and creative advertising?

The only reason they exist is because of legal mandate prohibiting shady and illegal tactics, largely for the safety of the front line workers. If companies could be assured that they would not be held criminally liable for committing actions like that, corporate espionage and sabotage would be a daily occurrence and a company office would have tighter security than the President.
