    *Not me*

Before I went to bed earlier today, I was out on the porch having a smoke, and a vehicle pulled in to my neighbor's parking spot (the norm around here, no one has any respect for other people's spots). I really wasn't paying much attention, because I didn't even hear them come up the stairs. A few minutes later, the next thing I knew, they were at my neighbor's door, and before I went inside, I heard a good healthy round of pounds on the door. I went inside, fearing they may be some sort of solicitors or something, and it was my bedtime anyway.

As I put the computer away and got ready to head to the bathroom to wash up, there were three or four more rounds of the loud pounding on the door.

    HE. IS. NOT. HOME.

I thought they were gone when it had been a minute or so of silence while I was brushing my teeth, but as soon as I came out of the bathroom to brush my teeth and catch just a few more minutes of a show on TV, I heard one last round of POUND POUND POUND, almost police-like.

    Rrrrr.

Then they finally gave up and went away. I finished getting ready for bed and worried for a second they'd start pounding on my door, but they didn't. I heard footsteps going down the stairs, and then an engine start. So they left.

But weirdly enough, when I just went out for a smoke after eating supper a few moments ago, my neighbor's car is still gone. That's really weird, because once he's home from work, he's home until he has to go back to work again. Meh.

This is the reason I'm glad I no longer live in an apartment.
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.
