  • Appropriate or not? *gross warning*

One of our short-term workers went to the gents and found a lump of toilet paper that had been used on the floor - someone had apparently missed the bowl after using it.

Showing the photo he took to a colleague, she promptly asked him to mail it to her from his phone. This ended up on our all-work email system with a message to clean up after yourselves.

    Appropriate or not?

I don't know about appropriate or not.

    Brilliant, certainly.

Nobody will forget that one, that's for sure.

Probably not appropriate, but sometimes inappropriate is necessary.

Not appropriate but probably made whoever did it pretty embarrassed. Hopefully it won't happen again.

I think it's a great idea. People need to have it driven into them that they can't get away with that kind of behavior, and being all nicey nice about it isn't going to do any good.

It's at least more appropriate than finding whoever did it and shoving their face into the pile of poopy toilet paper.

Which would be my preferred solution.

The pic was gross but neccessary.

It is highly inappropriate to fail to clean up after one's self. If the co-worker saw it, the perpetrator certainly did, therefore should have cleaned up his own mess.

Since there were no names attached and no way to really know who's leftovers it was, I'd say it was a brillantly approprate thing to do. If they can't bother to clean up after themselves, they can't be bothered to their job either -- that's the way I see it.

                      this.

the fact that they had to do this at all is the bigger issue.

                        Appropriate? Maybe not.

I bet people will be more cautious as to where they throw their shitty paper now.

                          No pic?

So it couldn't have been a customer? Unless the manager doesn't know who did it, I don't think it would keep the perp from doing it again. There are too many people who act dumb about what they did.
