  • Classic Star Trek quotes.

I was watching ST: VOY episode "Q2" today and I have to admit, it has the best quote in the entire Star Trek universe.

"If the Continuum has told you once its told you a thousand times, DON'T PROVOKE THE BORG!!"

A few other classics from Star Trek:

"Is this the ship of the Valkyries or did you women finally do away with the men of your species?" (Q, VOY: Death Wish)

"We've all done the scarecrow" (Q, VOY: Death Wish)

When Crusher is talking over Q he turns her into a yapping Irish Setter (TNG: True Q)

Hmm, is it just me or does John de Lancie always have great lines?

"You have the bridge, what's left of it" (Janeway, VOY: Year of Hell)

    Any others?
    Quote Dalesys:
... as in "Ifn thet dawg comes at me, Ima gonna shutz ma panz!"

    Dr. McCoy (alone in sickbay)
"If I jumped every time a light came on around here, I'd end up talking to myself..."
    (Balance of Terror)
    - - -
    Chekov: Admit it. We're lost.
Sulu: Yeah, but we're making great time.
(one of the movies, I forget which one)
    - - -
Spock (in tough-guy voice and rockin' a Thompson)
"I'd advizhe yuz ta keep down, Oxmyx...."
    (A piece of the action)
    - - -
McCoy (In Kirk's cabin, watching as Yeoman Rand leaves the room)
"What's the matter, Jim? Don't you trust yourself?"
    - - -
And although not canon, this one is from a Star Trek comic of the 1980s....
McCoy (as the ship shudders under an enemy barrage)
"What's goin' on? Feels like Jim's driving!"

        "Its........ it's.............It's GREEN."
(can't remember the name of the episode)

this was quoted almost verbatim by Data in the TNG episode 'Relics'

          "Out there---thataway!"

(from one of the movies, I forget which one...)

          Oh...my favorite...

          "Brain and brain...what is brain??"

(original series, don't know the name of the episode, it's the one where the men live apart from the women on this planet & the women use a mysterious "helmet" thing to connect with the "Controller" - a computer, IIRC)

I believe that's from "Spock's Brain," regarded as one of the worse episodes of the original series.

No mention yet of the greatest line ever?

"Captain, I protest, I am NOT a merry man!"
--Worf (after Q dresses him up for a Robin Hood-themed thing) (I forget the episode)

He did a little too much LDS in the 60's...

Kirk about Spock, The Voyage Home

                Yes, that's LDS, not LSD.

I think the best quote is, while non-canon, amusing enough to be worth it.

"I'll keep that in mind the next time I have to use the self destruct to save a peaceful, unarmed planet from a giant rock. I almost didn't make it because of this little guy. What do you make of this, Lieutenant?"

"I have no… Is that a… Borg Tribble?"

                  "Borg Tribble."

Get the cheese to sickbay! - B'lanna Torres (Voyager, Learning Curve) has always made me giggle,

And no one has mentioned Scotty's famous "Hello Computer" while talking into a mouse) line yet from the Voyage Home?
                    Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

"Captain, please. Not in front of the Klingons."
                      - Spock

".... actually, it's my first attempt."
                      - Sulu

Both from Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country.

I believe the epsiode name was "A Rose by any other name" this is the episode where the aliens from the Andromida galaxy take over the Enterprise and reduce the crew to little hexblocks of white powder.

Scotty utter that line whilst getting one of the aliens really really really drunk.

and I remembered that without Google. God I am an old trek fan.

that may be but the women were hot (just as they alway were in the original series **** pant pant pant ****** I still to this day wonder how much double sided body tape they used for some of those female outfits to keep them from having a "costume malfunction" ie. boobies popping out from above OR BELOW esp in the episode "The Cloud Miners" those backless halter tops must have been literally glued on cause after a time gravity and sweat should have taken over.

You and me both, brother. Eons ago, I had an official 'Star Trek' edition of TRIVIAL PURSUIT. This was before TNG aired, so it just reference the original show - and I had an 'impressive command of thoroughly useless information' (to paraphrase Calvin).

                            that was a great one.

While not a quote, in the episode "Deja Q" (Data):

                            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLIU5...eature=related

Also, Data from "First Contact" (?):

"Captain, I think I speak for the entire crew when I say, to hell with our orders"

That's for damn sure.......But the absolute BESTEST one ever of TOS was "The Squire of Gothos"

And my favorite quote so far...besides the Dr Mccoy "I'm a doctor not a ....." is the Dr on Voyager -- "I"m a Doctor not a peeping Tom". Not sure of the episode title.
