So the husband and I got a six month subscription to Napster through Best Buy's Reward Zone. We're just that freakin' awesome!

Okay, not really, we just threw money at Best Buy and Reward Zone upped us to Premier Silver status. Still, six months of Napster is pretty cool.

It also comes with a 25 song download credit. So I'm looking for suggestions. We're both pretty eclectic when it comes to music, ranging from J-Pop/Rock to Classical. Our only limit is Country (to a degree), Rap and Hip-Hop.

So, with that in mind, I thought I might turn to the wonderfully wise SC crowd to toss suggestions our way for artists. 'Cause you're so awesomely awesome..and cause there's cookies.
    Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
    DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

I'm really liking "I'm with you" from RHCP (Their new album).

Rebellion do some awesome songs - "Sword the in the Storm (The Saga of Earl Hakon, Protector of Norway)" is my favourite, followed by "Thor" - Yes it is about the God Thor - and "Treason"

Will edit if I think of some others tickling my fancy at the mo.

            Alternative rock:
            Linkin Park (up to Meteora)

2Cellos if possible. Not only are they sexy they do some damn good arrangements

              I second Linkin Park.

              Other suggestions:

              Living End.
              Fall out Boy.
              Wolfmother
              The Vines
              Jet
              Lifehouse
              Crowded House
              AC/DC...

Anyone noticing a theme here? (all of the above apart from 2Cellos are rock bands, about 3/4 of that list is Aussie)

              Some other random stuff:

Oreskaband (Japanese ska band, they do some alright songs)
Bond (string quartet who basically take classical songs/write their own and put a pop flavour to it)
              The Corrs
              Killing Heidi...

Some of my faves not listed yet:

Gary Hoey; Animal Instinct or Greatest Hits Albums. Instramental Rock/Metal

Dragonforce; anything except the Valley of the Damned album--that one never worked for me. Speed Metal with really complicated guitars, crazy drums, and understandable lyrics.

The Macross Frontier Soundtrack TV, or Movie as both are good. -J-pop

Lately I've been listening to the following:

Joe Bonamassa (blues/rock guitarist... PBS has been playing his concert in London a lot lately)

Black Country Communion (blues/rock 'supergroup' featuring Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes {formerly of Deep Purple}, Jason Bonham {son of legendary Zep drummer} and Derek Sherinian {keyboard player extraordinaire})

                    Motorpsycho (Swedish rock/grunge/stoner/prog/jazz/crazy band)

Devin Townsend (Canadian 'mad scientist of heavy metal', but if you don't like heavy listen to his latest album "Ghost"... very spiritual, very atmospheric and VERY light)

Apocalyptica (the concert cellists who played Metallica all those years ago... they're still together. Sort of. They have a drummer now, too)

Ghost (doom metal with an 80's sound. NOT FOR RELIGIOUS PEOPLE)

The Devil's Blood (doom metal with a retro 70's sound. NOT FOR RELIGIOUS PEOPLE)

                    Dawnbringer (classic-style metal)

Porcupine Tree (progressive rock, a lot like Pink Floyd. Not a fan of their earlier work but the newer stuff is amazing)

Listen to a few songs on YouTube first to see if they scratch your itch.
"Kamala the Ugandan Giant" 1950-2020 • "Bullet" Bob Armstrong 1939-2020 • "Road Warrior Animal" 1960-2020 • "Zeus" Tiny Lister Jr. 1958-2020 • "Hacksaw" Butch Reed 1954-2021 • "New Jack" Jerome Young 1963-2021 • "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff 1949-2021 • "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton 1958-2021 • Daffney 1975-2021

I don't remember. I just remember my brother in law telling my sister about them as a song played. He mentioned they do a kick ass version of the James Bond theme.
