  • Someone was amazed by me...

and not in a good way.

So, today, as I'm driving home from work, my brakes went out. Completely. I managed to avoid an accident, and pulled into a repair shop.

Apparently, my brakes were so worn that he hadn't seen anything like it in 11 years of working there.

$600 later I'm back on the road.

Don't feel too bad; that happened to me. Well, I knew they were going, but didn't realize how far gone until they were slipping as I drove to the repair shop. It was literally around the corner, but scary nonetheless. When they went in to the back end some of the parts fell on the floor.

I once had Sears lube my right-front disc brake when they lubed my suspension... Yeah, nearly rear-ended someone.

Are you sure you're not married to my father?

Well, aside from the fact that my Dad was never in the navy. And is probably far too old and on the wrong continent...

One of the best things I've learned is how to replace the brake pads on my car.

$600? Must have been all 4 brakes and 4 rotors?
