  • Prayers/Good Thoughts For Baby Brother

My little brother is in the hospital with a ruptured appendix.

The pain and discomfort has been going on for almost a week. His stubborn self thought he just ate something bad or had stomach problems or hurt himself at work.

He finally went to Urgent Care earlier this evening, but was told he needed to go to a hospital for an MRI/ultrasound, and my mom had to take him there and that's where they found out.

As of an hour or so ago, he was finally put in a room and they have to drain the infection that's formed before they can operate. Tomorrow at 8, the doctor will be in to let my parents know how the process will go.

I was going to say 'big hugs' for your brother, but that would just add to the pain for him at the moment, so I'll just send good thoughts and wishes for him.

My appendix decided it didn't love me any more when I was 17. No warnings, no rumblings, one day I was fine, the next day it had to be taken out.

Hope he'll soon be on the mend.

Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

Augh, that sucks. Hope the surgery goes well -- it's a very standard one, like gall bladder removal, so the surgeon's probably done it a bunch of times. Sending good thoughts.

Thanks so much guys. He's my first and best friend I ever had. What great timing it is that my FB pic is a pic of us. Anyway, I won't be writing anything on there to follow because I'm under strict rules from mom that due to his gf being a crazy freak, no posting about it and no telling her. Which is understandable.

My parents just left to go to the hospital to talk with the doc and see how today will go. I will be back later sometime today or tonight with more details.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers

Good luck to him, and when he gets better give him a Gibbs whack on the head! Next time he has pain like that somewhere, he needs to get to a doctor ASAP!

<Rob had his appendix blow on him when he was 12 ... his mom kept telling him that it was some sort of stomach bug for a week - she is a nurse It took him a bit to get well because of peritonitis. They have really good drugs, and they rarely lose anybody nowadays. He might have some interesting scars though!>

My b/f had to pass out on the receptionists desk at the doctors before they stopped saying it was a tummy bug. When he got to hospital his appendix was just at bursting point. Has a large-ish scar and a tale to tell but that was all, three days later he was in my very loving arms
