  • Oddly Excited

I posted earlier this year about being hit by a drunk driver. After a year full of woes and financial struggles resulting in bills from the accident, I'm finally about to have surgery to fix the major problem.

A week from Friday I'll be having arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. We've recently found the problem is that I have a SLAP tear (a tear in my upper labrum) and a tear in the inferior, or lower, labrum tearing up towards the upper tear. They think I might maybe have a torn rotator cuff as well, but the surgeon didn't see that in the film, only the radiologist did. If it is there then she will fix it.

I'm excited, oddly. I'm sick of being in pain and even though this means I'll go six months without an arm to use, it should help me in the end.

The recovery time will be hard - but it will be worth it to have an end goal in sight. Good luck, and don't push too hard on rehab!
