  • I understand the reasoning but...

    it still sucks.

    A vent...and only a vent...seriously only a vent.

So with all of that crap happening with my car last month since I still had to pay bills...I spent 219% of my take home pay (yes I figured it out). I wiped everything out and had to make food that was meant for 2 weeks last for 6. I'm down to white rice...yay for that.

So I do a small stint of venting at the wonderful boyfriend and he offers to buy me pizza. I tell him that would be lovely but every place here is now checking the card at the door to make sure it was a real card. Some even call ahead of time to make sure it's not a one use number because the driver needs to verify the card. Why do they do this? Cause some douche or the plural form of that stole numbers and several places got burned on the disputes.

So while it had been a nice gesture, the fact he's 1000 miles away kinda burned the whole gesture to heck.

That sucks. I'm able to phone in an order (for pick-up) and pay over the phone with my CC# and have my husband pick it up on his way home from work. But if they've been burned, I can see why they're being cautious...

Can your boyfriend get you a gift card to a pizza place, or even to a grocery store, instead?

I'm sure he could Maggie but then there would still be the thing of getting said card here. I'm getting paid on friday, tomorrow, and while I need to stretch what I can...I'll be able to make it for a bit. Actaully I need to go over what all is coming out of this check to know how much I have to spend on me after I get the dogs some food.
