Why am I seeing things?

A little b/g -- We live in a very old house that belonged to DH's grandfather (NOT a nice man). When the kids were little we had some weird incidents that scared them. The usual lights turning on and off, doors opening, smelling cigars, etc. I have literally lost count of the electronic devices that died for no apparent reason and we used to buy light bulbs by the case. Since it was really starting to freak the kids out I got some blessed sea salt to sprinkle around and ask "whoever" to please leave. That pretty much ended that.

Now there has been a small incident here and there over the past 12 years. Nothing compared to when the kids were little and usually noticed by no one but me. I KNOW I saw my cat's spirit in the living room. As a matter of fact my DH and DD2 saw him too but thought it was our cat we have now.

Ok, thanks for muddling thought that . Now when I am in the living room sitting on the couch, out of the corner of my eye I see small dark shapes on the couch. The first couple of times I freaked because I thought it was a bug. We tend to get pretty big palmetto bugs around the house in the summer. It has happened so much I tend to have an "eh, again?" attitude. After reading the paranormal thread I as wondering if anyone had any ideas what it might be. My first thought was I need to get my eyes checked but I have a yearly exam already. The blobs are dark like shadows and I do know it is not "floaters" that sometimes happens when my eyes are tired. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I know this may sound silly, but I totally had the same thing happen with me a couple of times. Dark blobs in the corner of my eye, and when I freaked, I didn't see them anymore.

Eventually realized I was barely catching sight of my eyelashes. <facepalm>

I hear you, Seraph. I get that with stray reflections at the periphery of my glasses.

Unfortunately, back on topic, I'm not sure what it could be other than stray mundane objects like eyelashes and glasses reflections. Sorry.

there is a ghost cat or animal in my house....its followed me too.

I know its my my child because it happened recently and I know for a fact he was outside. was standning at the sink doing dishes and a black tail and hind quarters caught me out of the corner of my eye.
