The parking office at the university I work at as a contract visitor parking attendant has a ticket machine installed in front of the newly renovated visitor parking entrance. The ticket machine has tickets in it, but the parking office does not want any visitor pulling a ticket. They want me & the other visitor parking attendant to use the clicker to raise the gate. This is because the pay machine h as not yet been installed. The problem is this....even if I use the clicker to raise the gate, customers can still pull a ticket. So after being bitched at by the parking office employees for customers pulling a ticket, I let them know this. I noticed today that the ticket machine has been disabled. Good.
The parking office has the ability to raise the exit gate at the faculty/staff garage for univerisity employees whose access card does not work. There is a camera at the parking office pointing at that gate. Plus there is a call box at that gate. I got a call a call from the parking office regarding an employee whose access card did not work. They wanted me to use the access card inside the booth to raise the gate. From now on I will tell the person needing help to press the call button on the call box.
