Basically trying to get good at drawing ponies. YES My Little Pony Friendship is magic.
(say what you will) And if anyone would like a pony or MLP:FiM drawing in that style of drawing please feel free to ask! And YES I have checked, the DMCA/Hasbro allows fan art so i am not breaking any laws.

I mention it because today i was inspired to draw for one of our own members. (I still consider him a member)Plaid Pony so when I am done it will look like Sweetie Belle, with color.
EDIT just realized that he looks like he did at his old job. thats not the intention. was trying a pony with clothes. plus its NOT a blue shirt...darn it. lol

eye color
mane and tail color, one or two colors?
body color?
accessories such as clothes, glasses, shoes or jewelry which is limited but i can draw it on my own. i use the pony maker for an example and color chart

Finally finished the Plaid Pony. I chose purple and green because he loved Joker and those were Joker colors.

Nearly perfect...all it needs is a "Meow" speech bubbe.

Mid, just a couple of points.

The over all structure is good, its the inking that is really shaky. you can see lots of starts and stops and signs of nervous shaking on the long lines.

if you have some thin tracing paper to lay over a picture to practice on, this will give you the much needed practice to have a smooth line technique. figure that after about 15-20 completed tracings, then your own should have noticeable improvement. Inking is as much a skill as drawing and it needs to be practiced as well. Please don't take this as this is the only thing you need to do. This is just a means to improve your confidence and to get you started down the road to better skills....

I would like a pony! A female unicorn with a mane shaped like Dashie's, pale blue body, darker blue eyes, surprise me with mane color, and a book with moon cutie mark.



I also want to see a pony-fied Wolverine, too.

I draw fairly well i guess. i use photoshop to color. getting better with that too. going back and smoothing out the lines. i can go back and do this too but for now its going to have to wait.
thank you for the advice i do appreciate it :-D this is what i like, constructive criticism. yes this looks bad but here is why and what you can do to improve kind of stuff....and no offense to everyone else, but the whole "like" doesn't work for me. but thats what i get for posting on facebook. shrugs

I'm looking at buying a tablet (from Amazon probably) I heard good things about the Wacom Bamboo as a starter drawing tablet from a couple of friends. They are a reasonable price as far as I tell for a Wacom.

*psst* I draw ponies too Fun isn't it.

I've only done the one so far but on paper. I so need to get a tablet.

to be honest, this is until i can get my supplies to start making jewelry but practice doesn't hurt. Want to be good enough to at least look decent, or more decent and get better and don't mind spending time fine tuning it.

had a hard time with plaid pony because i had to fight not to cry so thats probably why its so messy looking...yes an artist is his or her own worst critic

ok so i didn't need that long a break. got the rough sketches out and sent in pm.
please let me know if changes should be made as i do this before going over it in ink. or in this case finish up then ink

I've always wondered what Rarity would look like, color inverted. So dark purple body and 2 different shades of gray for her mane (if I recall her mane has 2 different colors in it). As for her eyes, they'd be a sort of lighter purple so they'd show up but not a ghostly, creepy white that would happen if you truly inverted her colors?

Following along those lines, for the fun of it, swap pony colors!

Applejack turns yellow and Fluttershy turns orange.
Rainbow Dash turns pink and Pinkie Pie turns blue and rainbow-y.
Rarity turns purple and Twilight Sparkle turns white.

This is something you can do if you have time. I'm mostly interested in seeing Rarity. If you want to do the Mane 6, fine. If not, fine. Thanks.
