  • I need to say this

    Phil is greater than Chuckles.

Phil is the only true meteorological groundhog.

    Accept no imitations.

Ahh....this is the meteorologist's day to party!

Added: Chuckles (aka Molly) has predicted an early Spring and is a Patriots fan. Alas, I will be driving into work while Phil makes his forecast.

Yeah, but it's a mild winter.

          I am a groundhog.
I am a rodent of the family Sciuridae.
I have stored away a quantity of foodstuffs for the winter.
I am extremely thankful to have these nuts for consumption.
I came out today, to see if there was anymore.
You guys scared the shit out of me.
Like you do to all my kin, every fucking year.
I am not a weather predictor.
I am the 99% of wildlife.

          Go. Away.

Nibbles the Groundhog did not see her shadow here at the WNC Nature Center -- early spring, not as though it makes any difference. We haven't had a winter here this year.

For what it's worth, my parents' lumpy brown cat also did not see her shadow because she spent the whole day asleep in a lawn chair. I guess that makes it official.
Drive it like it's a county car.

Today's Cute Overload calendar page had a picture of a squirrel poking his head out of a hole in a tree and lamenting that no one cares about whether or not he sees his shadow.

Beauregard Lee did not see his shadow. Being in the former Southern nation, I accept his forecast.

                  Treasure...that is brillant.

My old classmates have been exchanging "Groundhog Day" movie quotes on FB and Twitter.

We've got the unofficial results from the second-rate groundhogs, but what I'd like to know is the REAL prediction: did Wiarton Willie see his shadow?
