Even though visitor parking was reserved today, the parking office will not or cannot turn on the full sign. I am guessing because the university employees who park on levels 2 & 3 will not be able to enter the garage because their access cards would not work. I have to keep the outside gate across from the visitor parking booth raised from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. So I called the parking office to ask if I had to do this today, & I was told yes. I was also told that if anyone enters visitor parking through the open lane, I have to go into the garage, ask the customer what they are here for, & if they are not her for anything on the event list, to let them know that they have to leave.
Customers entered visitor parking through the open lane during my shift. Here is what I was told.
"I will only be here for a short time". That customer ended up exiting.
"I did not see a sign stating visitor parking is reserved. True, the full sign was not on. I referred that customer to the parking office.
The last customer who entered the garage was not difficult at all. Thank goodness.
