wanting to get some business cards for my convention at vistaprint.com
wanted to know if anyone has had a good or bad experience or commentary in general?
if i did get some its 250 for about 10 bucks plush shipping and handling and the whole tv offer takes off 9.99 and so on, and because i had something printed on the backside it costs a bit more but thats ok.

haven't ordered and basically just want some for a convention coming in april and to have on hand.

Haven't done business cards, but I did use them for holiday address labels this past season. They were good quality, arrived quickly, and pretty cheap. I don't have any need for business cards atm, but if I did, I'd be willing to do business with them again.

I've heard good things about them and you can get a free order (depending the design) for free, just pay for shipping. I've been tempted myself to get a calendar.

        DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

I've got calendars from them for the last few years as christmas presents for my parents (pictures of the kids at this time last year, it's interesting to see how they've changed in just a year). They tend to come fairly quickly, reasonable prices and good quality.

Their business cards are awesome. I have some. I used them to make up business cards that explained that my daughter has autism and what autism is. The come in handy, believe you me.

I say use them. As mentioned above, they've got good prices and I used the get them free except for shipping/handling. It's a deal!
And you're welcome (in regards to my avatar).

My son has used them in the past. I don't remember him having anything bad to say about them.

Please be very, very careful with VistaPrint, and pay close attention to EVERYTHING you do there.

VP does do free cards, yes. Their whole business model is that they survive by sneakily getting customers to either a) get extras they don't need or b) signing them up for services without them really realizing it. C) you advertise for them (if you get a single sided, their website is almost ALWAYS on the back), therefore bringing in more people for them to entangle.

Oh, and before I forget...they sell your information. Be prepared for a TON of spam, both email and mail-wise, after you get your cards.

I used to use them, until I watched them practically swindle my friend out of $400 of her money. She thought she was clicking Yes, I accept to the terms and conditions of the order. Turns out, the REAL "Yes I accept" was in smaller text, further down. She accidentally signed herself up to a subscription service, that she didn't notice for a couple of months. Took her another couple of months to fight it, and it was just not pretty by that point.

I personally use uprinting. They're cheap, provide beautiful cards on the majorly affordable side, and best of all, NO TRICKS.

Sorry to be the person who throws the bucket of cold water, but really, I don't like them anymore after what I've seen.

If you choose to use VP still, just be wise and wary, and watch carefully what you click on there.

nono that is why i asked!
i went through and acted like i was going to buy
noticed that yes printing on the back costs money. they want to try and sign you up for extra stuff, and "free magazine" subscriptions i made sure i had none of that. no website or calendar or anything and it was exactly 10 bucks for 250 using their design not mine
another 6 something if i wanted a thank you on the back. which would be fine buuuut. its been decided no for now. HOWEVER i still have about 50 something days to change my mind we shall see.

and thank you for letting me know they sell my info. that may be something I DO NOT WANT. thank you very much Seraph.
specifically for business cards yes. but watch what i am doing. got it HUGS

I bought a rubber stamp thingy - it was free, only had to pay p&p - was a great deal. Did get caught in some fine print and somehow subscribed to 2 newsletter things at £10 each a month. One phone call and they were cancelled with a full refund
What I bought was great though

I'll second Seraph's warning, though I have not personally had a problem with my one transaction with them. I got a pack of the 250 business cards for free (only paid shipping). Got them one-sided, but the backs were blank rather than advertising the company. This was a good five years ago, though, so things may have changed. But yes, read everything carefully to make sure you don't get signed up for unwanted "extras" and subscriptions.

I actually prefer Zazzle, myself, though Moo.com is good as well (but pricier). They've got lots of card material options, including indestructible, and double-sided printing is included in the pricing. I haven't noticed any spam increases, since their business model is for the artists selling products to make commission (Zazzle takes the base price as their portion). It's about $20, give or take, for a 100-pack of the indestructible cards I like, but you can frequently check www.zazzle.com/coupons to see what deals are running at the moment. My most recent pack I used their 50%-off code for business cards last month, bringing the price down to a reasonable level.

Yeah I was just worried, and wanted to let you know, LOL. A week after my last order with them (and I mean last as in, last time I'll ever deal with them), I started getting strange spam mail. Like, for instance, these cigarette advertisements and stuff. Being a nonsmoker, I was really kinda wondering where this came from, especially since I'm super careful with anything regarding my address. Eventually found out VistaPrint sold my information to them, and now I'm at their mercy. Multiple calls to request ceasing of the mail hasn't worked at all. And I really want it gone, especially the cigarette stuff, I keep getting the stink eye over it!

Although, one time they did mail me a set of brushed steel lighters. Which were pretty freaking awesome, LOL.

They actually changed about....four years ago? So yep, you were one of the lucky ones. Four years ago was when they started really pushing the "FREE CARDS" thing, and started prostituting themselves to selling information and their advertisers. -.-
