  • Oh yes, that news is devestating <Sarcasm>

Just informed I no longer have employment..which given that I missed a lot of work lately..not really a big deal. Also, the job was not really the best in the world anyhow. Now since I have a legitimate reason for missing work, many people might scream and fuss. Not me.

I've fought going on disability for a long time, though with my mind issues..medical problems..etc I knew I qualified. It's gotten to where I can not dress myself. I need help DRESSING. I contacted a lawyer and am going after disability. I would rather work, but when your body gives out on you..and THEN your mind..sadly that is what I have to do.

So..the news was not met with fret, or fear..though yes I know I am going to lose my home..we are paying cash on a small place..so meh. I hate that we will lose the home, that I will not be able to pay my obligations. I am a proud person, and it hurts..bad. If there was ANY way we could keep the place, and pay the payments..I would..in a heartbeat.

No this news was actually met with relief..as I am the type of person that I will do everything in my power, and MORE to meet my obligations. Was causing me stress knowing I probably was not going to be able to do this job for some time..so it was a relief.

PS..did I spell the title right???

I should have gone onto disability twenty years before I did. I fully understand, Mytical.

      1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
      2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
      3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
      4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

<hugs Mytical> That sucks, but you know what? Those jerks don't deserve someone as awesome as you.

You're a very strong person, and one of the more courageous people I know. Hang in there, and I'll keep praying for you. ^^

I'm thinking I might end up there, too. So we'll have a disability party. Seriously, though, strength is more than physical ability. And your mind is not going. If I could rent the house from you, I would.

Not my cognitive ability, or intelligence..just my ability to focus. Words escape me..not as obvious online..as I can take my time..rewrite things..etc. Some times I just stare at nothing, unable to think..at all.

Dude--pain will do that to you. It's probably temporary.

Saw your other update that you also have either pneu/bronch. That really sucks, no wonder you're so exhausted. Rest up, get better, and know that we're all here for you.

As someone who has been fired from at least as many jobs as I've quit...I say, good for you, and hopefully you are in for better days Maybe you could do some volunteer work once you start feeling up to it. I wish you the best with getting on disability.

Any time you are under extreme stress, your body will react in a strange way. I'm a lot like you, when I'm stressed or tired, my focus is shot. Don't feel bad, it will get better. Just rest and you will be amazed at what changes.

It sounds a lot like "chemo brain". As far as I know many patients who haven't gotten chemo get those symptoms too.
Just wait. You will get better.

I know. Just a little frustrating. Today I went out to get a durable power of attorney, because I can't trust myself right now. Anyhow that is not important. The section of the city is made of brick, even has a brick road. As I arrived before the lawyer opened I wanted to walk as much as I could..trying to rebuild my strength.

My mother (with me, since no way I am driving in my current mental state, and also the person who I am giving the PoA to) said "Just let me know when you want to turn around." As we walked.

I wanted to say "At the end of the bricks." ie when the bricks in the road turned to normal sidewalk. I could think of cobblestone..but the simple word 'brick' took me 20 minutes to think of. It's things like that, that frustrate me.

I get dizzy/off balance..need help dressing and taking showers. My body will get so weak I can barely move....anyhow enough of the self pity party..just trying to explain my frustration/vent over knowing I am a very intelligent person..who can't think of a five letter word

That's a great, and realistic outlook about the job and house, Myt. I'm still waiting to see if I'm going to keep my home or not. Currently in mitigation due to loss of income since my separation-then-divorce. But the bankers forgot to tell the lawyers and they foreclosed on me. My home was scheduled to be auctioned today, and they're telling me everything SHOULD be fine... should.

And if I lose my house? Oh well. A place to stay was offered by a dear friend last summer, and the offer still stands. Been thinking for awhile that it would be best to sell this place. I like the space this house has, but... it's just too full of broken promises and heartache now. Either way, life goes on.

                              *hugs* for Myt.
