We just got a new system and and new regsiters Thursday. We have 3 of them at the front. But the one I was on froze due to some weird bug in the system and the other was down cause of something that happened last night . Now mind you we have a register in photo and cosmetics also that still worked.

My coworker is on the other register ringing customers up. It got busy fast. We try to send people to the other spots to lessen the line a little. Just people don't like taking the extra walk. One guy comes in and just starts yelling and complaining about the long line. My manager and I apologized and said that the 2 extra registers aren't working, but we have 2 others either in photo or cosmetics (no one goes there anyways). He grumbled and said he doesn't want to walk all the way there, but he was going to be late to work. He would have been gone in 1 minute instead of the 5 he was in line.

Your store has the new registers?!?! *is sooo jealous* We're supposed to get ours soon (read: end of the year).

On topic: we get assholes like this all the frakking time. I *hate* them. Whiney bitchy assholes.

gah! Don't you hate that! I've never understood the lack of logic that goes into bitching about a line, what do they honestly think you can do about it? Its like they think its somehow YOUR fault that other customers exist, or maybe they somehow think you LIKE long lines and deliberatly go slowly so they stay long, hell I don't know. . .

And then to bitch about being late somewhere or how long its taking AFTER you have told them a way to negate this long wait. . . they still dont do it. . .
I just wanna grab them by the collar and scream "GAH! YOU HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF!!!" I know it sounds so cliche, but I think everyone here is right, SC's lives suck and they have to spread the suck to make themselves feel better, if only for a little while.

Whew, sorry, I really felt for ya there, plus work today/tonight is really driving me up the wall.

Another one from yesterday, after said guy left.

We thought we fixed the register I was on. so we asked someone to come up. Not fixed. So we apologized, and she was good about it. So, we let her go back to where she was. The people behind her got pissed. She had 2 cards, you have family still looking at stuff, let the damn person go.

Some older customers (like with walkers and stuff) actually went to cosmetics. They had a bunch of stuff, and put it at my register. But I offered to help one of them get to the counter and apologized (thats all I can do). They were fine about it. Pretty grateful that there is someone willing to help them. That was a long hr.

And the registers are nice. Minus the bugs. I think I am in love

It's funny how they are always in a hurry to check out, but just spent a hour wandering aimlessly around the store and will spend another hour talking to someone in the parking lot.

How strange, customers at my former store would race to an open register if it meant they didn't have to wait in line.

What I don't get is the people who complain about the the long lines during the Christmas shopping season. What the hell did they expect?

Once when I was on the register during the noon rush we had long lines and they were calling for salesfloor to come up for backup. I had a fairly long line. There was a woman on her cell a few back. Found out she was calling the store to complain that she was a regular customer and had to wait in line (beccause we should of just let her go to the head of the line). Then when she does get up to the register she just leaves her full cart (luckily no food - just some pillows and things like that) and said very snotty that she didn't want it anymore. Entitled much?

Stand in line all that time, then walk out without your stuff? Wow, she's really making a statement, she's calling the attention of the world to the major problem she's found, where are the newspapers, the reporters, they'll elect a statue to her for her, corporate will bow down to her.....umm, then, maybe not so much
