  • Fire him NOW!

Normally I *really* hate this CW and enjoy it when he gets tortured by customers but this one kind of almost made me want to feel bad for said CW. Seriously this CW is an asshole so don't feel too bad for him.

I was in the back in the EMPLOYEE's ONLY area (important) when a security guard came to my window and said he'd like the cage manager for a customer. Then he turned a bit and I realized... He brought a customer into the employees ONLY area right next to where we keep the chips and cash filled with millions of dollars.

Granted you have to be buzzed in to get into the cage BUT there is a window right there where said customer could have reached in and grabbed a strap of hundreds worth ten grand. Needless to say I was too shocked to tell security to get him the hell out.

    Me: ...I'll be right back.

I run my ass over to the supervisor on duty and explain what's going on she was a bit: too and ran back there. She called surveillance who also had a cow and demanded that they get the customer out of there ASAP.

Not wanting to piss off the customer anymore the SV talked with him a bit back there then threw in the part of where she'd like to talk to him in the VIP room instead.

Now, what was so urgent that he brought a security guard, one of our supervisors and even a pit boss?

Apparently CW ALMOST shorted the guy. Yeah. Because CW almost messed up the transaction the SC accused CW of wanting to pocket the extra money (we're not allowed to even have pockets, ours are either glued or sewn shut).

Does SC have ANY idea how many transactions we see? We are human and mess up to but the fact that he was properly paid and there was no real screw up why should CW be fired??

Eventually SC calmed and left but really!? And security guard got his ass chewed for having a customer back there. Crazy!

Yeah...If anything it sounds like more wrong was done by the security guard than CW. The $ got sorted-out; does the SC want you guys to wear shock collars to punish you every time you miscount!?

Don't let Corporate hear that idea. They might like it. All in the name of "superior customer service" and all that.

I'd say the security guard needs to be fired, not the CW. What even remotely made him think that bringing a customer into an employee's only area at a casino was acceptable?

Never mind. There's that word "think" again....

Good. There's a very good reason it's "Employees Only" and he should've known better. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and it won't happen again.

My vote is to can them both:

CW should have refused to buzz in the customer.

Security guard should have known better to even request that.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

The SC only went through a little door, couldn't have been buzzed in.--I controlled that part. Turns out the guard was new and didn't get into much trouble.
The CW did nothing wrong (for once lol) but the SC was way out of line for trying to have someone fired for "almost" doing something that was "wrong" but clearly was an accident.

Maybe since the SC accused the the employee for something they couldn't have done... the SC gets banned (or maybe even civilly prosecuted)

We all do, but some of us wouldn't notice there was a difference. I work for a giant corporation. How would I be able to tell if certain management and upwardly-mobile types were turned into mechanized drones endlessly repeating the corporate buzz phrase of the week?

Nice security! "Yeah, just come with me into the counting room where at least $100,000 is well within your reach for you to stuff into your clothes!" No one should be back there if they're not working at the place, especially when it comes to customers walking into the back rooms of numerous retail stores just so they can "look at something."
