Anyone playing TERA?

Been playing the Open Beta this weekend after mourning my characters they wiped after the closed beta test.

The game is MAGNIFICENT. Its surprisingly challenging, we spent a good 10-15 minutes fighting just ONE of the instance bosses, because he kept bouncing around and dodging attacks. Once we figured him out though, things went faster.

I'm stoked at just how much this game forces you to become a good player, because if you're not...you won't last.

Anyhow, if anyone else is planning on playing, I'm on Jagged Coast, take a wild, WILD guess at the name. ;P

Well, I'm a bit underwhelmed with their support right now. I attempted to sign up for an account, but never received a verification email (checked spam folder and everything). I went through their troubleshooting guide with no luck. Fine, I'll contact them to get it straightened out. Nope. Only way to contact them is through the chat or open a ticket. Either of these options requires you to log into your account.

I tried it in the closed beta. Combat is refreshing and a nice change of pace from the 'classic' MMO paradigm of 'stand there and trade shots until you or enemy drops dead', but the quest system feels lifted wholesale from Lineage 2.

That and the fact that the average kleenex covers more on all the characters, and the sheer level of creepy on their forums makes this a 'do not pass go, do not collect $$$' for me.

Still, if you avoid the forums, the game is entertaining just for the combat, so...

I've been debating trying it out once its released Everything i've heard/read about it makes it sound promising.

I played the open weekend and promptly pre-ordered (and hey, one of my friends went to PAX East and had a code that basically gives you an upgrade to the digital CE version).


No clue where I will be playing, but I fell in love with the Lancer. The fact that I can, if my skill is high enough, simply not take damage because of my personal skill and ability to read the monsters is great.

As for the question of the lack of clothes for females? Yah, it's fairly terrible, and is exacerbated by the fact that the men actually get really cool costumes, however, it's not enough to stop me from playing.

Well, it is actually Lineage 3. Literally, the entire crew from L2 left, and created the original TERA in Korea, which is now being Americanized, and is what you see here. So good eye, LOL.

Well...originally a Korean game. What did you expect? LOL In fact, they toned down the Elin and covered them with more clothes, because originally it was practically breaking laws here to make one.

I looooved my Lancer. Cannot wait until head start so I can make her again.
