I went to this tonight. I went in expecting it to be kind of lame, but I loved it.

It wasn't that serious. The there wasn't much characterisation. But it was a spectacular sea battle movie.

And the soundtrack rocked.

There was lameness, but quite frankly it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be. I enjoyed it, occasionally crappy though it was. I loved the CCTV of the guy breaking into the store, referencing the actual footage. Quite a few tips of the hat through the film if you know what you're looking for.

That will be why they've been super hot on anti-piracy with it - putting posters up that say 'Cinema staff are watching.' Even though we make no more effort than usual.

Is the acting in it spectacularly awful, like Rhianna's fashion sense & "music"?

Not that bad, actually. Some bits were slightly wooden, but when you're dealing with career military wooden is the character to play. Rhianna wasn't that bad either.
