Today on NPR for some reason they were talking about American Idol and they said the most used song on that show is Phil Collins' "Take a Look at Me Now" and they played a medley of people singing it.

The announcer said, "This song will be in my head for the rest of the day."

    WELL MINE TOO GODDAMMIT.

I do love me some NPR, though.

Oh, I have it on in the background all the time. Being a stay-at-home mom, it's the only way I can keep up with what's going on in the world. Plus my husband listens to it at work so we can tak about the things we hear when he gets home.

I've had multiple songs stuck in my head that I hate more than the one's I love.

It doesn't happen to me all that much anymore. My music tastes are so varied that as soon as one song gets stuck in my head, an entire genre change hits my playlist and I forget what the earworm was.

It does happen on occasion, though, and when it does, it's there for days. Usually until I can memorize all the words, then it goes away.

I have a really interesting mix of Valjean's soliloquy and Masquerede in my head. I did see Phantom last night, but Les Mis is quite unexpected.

I find the best way to get a song out of my head is to actually listen to it again, usually I just have one small section stuck and it loops, listening to the entirety of the song seems to break this.

Isn't it really bad when they all start running together and soon you are singing

"All the single ladies, All the single ladies, I kissed a girl and I liked it, Oh everything is better with a bag of weed..."

The song I had in my head the past two days (because the station I listen to decided to start doing a 3-song retro play every day at 3) is: What I Want by the Spice Girls.

                  Yeah.

So far what I have really wanted was to scoop out my own brain with the largest ice cream scoop we have at work...

The guys at Rugz's work frequently sing "Kissed a girl" simply because they can. Considering the singers are normally two metalheads, a cranky bastard and two neatly dressed guys in their 40's... yeah, it puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.

                    This week's list:
                    'Pumped up kicks' - ?
                    'Blow my whistle' - ?
                    'Every day I'm shuffling' -LMFAO
                    'Back in time' - Pitbull
                    'Jimmy Recard' - Drapht
                    'Paradise' - ?
'Ich tu dir weh' - Rammstein
'End of an Empire' - Turisas
                    'Rex Regi Rebellis' - Turisas
                    'Before I Forget' - Slipknot
                    'Downfall' - Children of Bodom
                    'Vendetta' - Slipknot
'Lost, trashed and strungout' - Children of Bodom
Don't tempt pixies, it never ends well.

Minor detail: the actual name of that song is "Against All Odds."

I have been outed as a non-Phil Collins fan!

                        Thanks for the correction.

Pumped up Kicks is by Foster the People, and I feel a great song. I randomly will start singing it and get odd looks from time to time.

And the other two, would need lyrics in order to help out.

As for what's been stuck in my head lately?

"Someone I Used to Know", the acapella version.
Many different songs by Ludo that kinda weave themselves together. Like Topeka, Good Will Hunting By Myself, The Horror of out Love, and The Lamb and the Dragon.

I've had music from both Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis stuck in my head for the past two days. So much, that I've been mixing the lyrics together and now I can't even tell which song is which anymore. Methinks I may need a vacation day soon. LOL!
