  • I has new furchild!!!!

well, after a month of my child gone missing, I've decieded I can't live without a cat.

so I decieded to start looking, knowing it may take a while to find just the right one.

well today I went to the local animal shelter, and looked at a few of the cats that were in the display cages in the front lobby. none of them really touched that special place in my heart.

so i went back into the cat area, and saw a man holding a kitten....

I knew that was the one I wanted, but since he was holding it I thought he was going to adopt it. so i looked around at the other cats and none of them really hit me right...

then the man holding the kitten said the most magical words in my life! "I don't think I'll adopt you today...maybe some other day."

I said "may i see her then?"

soon as the kitten went into my hands she started purring and licking my nose and nibbled my ear like my old furchild used to.

my heart melted faster then a snowflake in a desert!

what broke my heart was that i had to put her back into the cage so i could pay the adoption fee and fill out the paper work, and she kept clawing at my shirt sleeve to make me come back.

ONLY reason I didn't take her that day is because she was being sent off to the vet to get her shots, get spayed, and microchipped....but she gets to come home tomorrow!!!!!!!

    Pictures will be forthcoming!

I'm glad you found a furbaby that fits with you that well. She sounds adorable.

You've got until tomorrow for the pics. Then we get pushy.

Congratulations on the new furbaby. Sometimes they just pick you. When we went to meet my new baby, he left playing with his brothers & sister to come sit in front of my & sniff my hand....gotta' go now. New furbaby's scratching on the LaZ Boy.

                          One word - PHOTOS.

My littlest furbaby is a year & a half or so now. She picked me at the shelter when we were just there to look (they have a thrift shop, we really didnt' go for kitties....). Of course, after coming home, she's decided she's Daddy's girl. And our older kitty is antisocial, pretty much to both of us. I needs a lapkitty......

                          Madness takes it's toll....

That's exactly what happened with mine. Felt like getting a kitty one day, looked around, there were none, so decided to look at my local animal rescue place 5 minutes away, run by a retired woman. There were 3 cats there, a pair of siblings, and one on its own. I was looking at the siblings, thinking of getting them, when i happen to look over at the lone kitty, he saw me, got up from his bed and walked to the edge of the cage, pushing himself against it as if to say "come scratch meeee!"

I knew then he was the right one for me, and I was correct, although I now have a ton of new scars (mostly because when we playfight he's a bit of a scrapper) but I'm totally happy with him. I have to say, he's a very strange cat though, part cat, part dog, part teenager. He loves me holding him like a baby and letting him suck/nom on my fingers, plays fetch, although he's still learning on that one, will eat anything and is so tolerant of me picking him up and holding him any way up
