Ok well let me say this, this woman who called me yesterday is just lucky she wasn't actually at the hotel..

Ok so I had an older lady fall down in our parking lot, she has a bad leg and it gives out sometimes. Well the fall was really bad, she scrapped off most of her skin on her right hand, and the top of her leg right under her butt. She fell twice actually, and the second time she fell right on her face. I'm pretty sure she broke her nose. Well there was so much blood, I called an ambulance to have the emt's check her out. Well as I'm on my cordless phone outside saving this poor womans nose from bleeding or worse choking on her own blood, I can hear the other line beeping in as I'm on the phone with dispatch, and trying to keep the woman conscious.. I'm on the line with 911 and I'm definately not going to hang up as they are giving me instructions to stop the bleeding. Well the emt's finally arrive so I'm able to hang up with dispatch and let them do what they do best. The phone rings again and I answer it, and this happends

me- The hero lol

me- Good afternoon, thank you for calling such and such, this is tryme, how can I help you
ew- Well first of all you can learn to actually answer your damn phone
me- I'm sorry ma'am, I was dealing with something at the moment, how can I help you now?
ew- I don't care what you were dealing with, I have been trying to get through to you for 15 minutes, and nobody has answered the damn phone. I am a customer, I was told you guys were always open, I demand if you ever see my number on your phone again, you damn well better answer it...
me- Well ma'am I'm sorry to inform you(so not in the mood to deal with irate bitch, when I have a bleeding woman standing in front of me), as our company works on a switchboard with about 6 or more lines, we do not have caller i.d., I apologize again for the wait(trying to be polite but the smile in my voice is wearing thin) as I am free now, would you like to know rates, or make a reservation
ew- Don't rush me I will take my own damn time just as you did, there was no excuse to take so long
me- (ok I normally don't do this, but I had enough of this woman already) Ok ma'am if you must know, I have a lady here who needs emt assistance, I was on the phone with them as you called, so we either make a reservation now, or I'm going to hang up and help the emt's take care of this bleeding woman...k
ew- Well I never.... My life is more important then hers, I want a manager now
me- (grinning at this point) Ok that's fine he will be in on Monday(it's only friday) you can call back and talk to him then.. Have a nice day

Lady never got her reservation, and never even stated what she wanted she was to busy bitching at me. I might get reamed about it later, but I was not putting up with her rudeness any longer, and honestly I am probably one of the perkiest, sweetest employees here so yea I'm not worried... me or go bye bye

Usually, when someone complains like that without knowing why you didn't answer the phone, a comment like "Sorry you had to wait, I was calling 911 and helping an injured guest, rather than answering the phone, just as I would do for you were you staying here and needed help". Usually that shuts them up pretty quickly. This lady, though, probably not.

I had the pleasure of telling a customer "I don't care how many much money you have, the person with extra holes in them the size of a 45 comes first. Your plane can wait 10 minutes to be fueled." It was even better when she was forced to return later that night because Japan refused her entry. I was even less polite then, I was trying to launch the SWAT team out in their plane.

I'm sorry, but I am never running so behind or am so late that I can't or won't pull over for an ambulance. And while I hate to generalize, anyone who doesn't pull over for an ambulance or other emergency vehicles is not only breaking the law, they are also major fucking douchebags, and I hope they run their car right into a utility pole at 80 mph.

The only exceptions to this are people who are themselves experiencing medical emergencies. Other than that, if you see and/or hear an emergency vehicle, you have no excuse for not pulling over and getting the fuck out of their way. Your life is not more important than someone experiencing an emergency. Period, end of story, shut the fuck up.
