I can't even stand those lunchable type pizzas...let alone something like that. Not for me thanks.

      1. I already have.

      2. I would never do it again. It was disgusting.

      3. Any hot food from a vending machine has at least a 99% chance of being disgusting.

      4. I just don't see any way a machine can create something appetizing in 3 minutes. I can see this catching on someplace like a university where you can have a lot of drunk people wanting drunk food fast, but I'm going to have to pass on this.

Let's say I was stuck in an airport at 2:00 AM and that was all that was available, then maybe.

If I have other options, I'll take them.

I've eaten something similar at a local hospital.

          It was okay.

Thinking about it... I could design a machine that would keep small pizzas frozen and sealed, then cook them to order in a minute or so using a quartz lamp. Given such a design, it might be possible for pizzas produced by machine to be edible.

This machine linked is a bit more sophisticated, making the pizza entirely from scratch. Again, possibly edible, though also likely expensive and requiring more waiting.

According to their website, these are pizzas made from scratch by the machine itself. Not pre-made frozen pizzas that are heated up.

Funnily enough, in my state, there are three major universities: one has on-site accomoation for the country folk, one has no on-or-off site accommodation, while the other has a few off-site places. The that has no accommodation whatsoever has a few campuses dotted around the city and country. One of those campuses has one of those Pizza vending machines. And they are disgusting.

I've had a couple of different kinds.

1: plastic wrapped french bread style. meh. it was food
2: hot fresher style. not bad.

then again i lived in japan where ... you can pretty much get ANYTHING from a vending machine. Including 1L bottles of hard alcohol. so more stuff from machines doesn't bother me in a way.

except the video rental ones. i'd rather support the brick & mortar store thanx

Video rental kiosks haven't popped up around here so much. People can order films online and have them delivered to your door, but that's about it. The brick and mortar stores still exist, but are somewhat quiet.

There's a picture floating around on the net of a French Fry vending machine. (as in the little yellow potato sticks, not the thin crispy styrofoam that passes for potatoes )

I've actually seen one of these in action (A Discovery Canada show. How it's Made I think) and they actually use ingredients similar to what you would find in a Franchise pizza place like Pizza Hut or the like.

Is it "Best ever pizza in the world" quality? No. But it's still a step up from the frozen ones.

I'd try one if it were available in Canada, just to see how it tastes.
