  • Fireworks mishap in San Diego

This is typical - they promise you 17 minutes, and its over in less than 30 seconds!!! I wonder if this is a "premature ignition"?

Fireworks display in San Diego malfunctions and goes off 5 minutes early - all at once!

Good to know I'm not the only one who's mind heads straight for the gutter when it comes to this.
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

As I posted on FB the other day when I read the article, that sounds like a "premature detonation."

        More like, oh . . . it already came . . . where was I at?

I love how it kind of looks like a glowing hot air balloon for a minute there. I'm not sure whether I would find it cool to watch or disappointing. Probably both.

funny and sad all at the same time. In my hometown (in semi-arid desert) we used to "go watch the mountain burn". Just about every year the city would douse the local small mountain with water beforehand to prevent it, but still the mountain would catch on fire. So the show would have an unplanned intermission while the mount was doused again to put the fire out.

I recall watching this on the local news. The only thing I could think of at the time was Jamie Hyneman's "Whoops!"

And now that I've had time to digest the story, it still seems the most appropiate response.

I heard about this and meant to google it. It's pretty cool to watch but it would be a little disappointing at the same time. Hey, at least the spectators have a funny story (though whoever was responsible for it is gonna have a hard time living this one down..)
