  • We lost our dearest Chrissie Miss today

Chrissie was a rescue dog that we got at Christmas 5 years ago for my son (hence the name Chrissie Miss). She was a full blooded Cocker Spaniel, just the lovingest dog in the world.

She had apparently been a breeder's bitch, and when she couldn't have puppies anymore had been kicked out on the street. She was deaf from her ear infections never having been treated, and had never been housetrained..because she had never been out of a cage.

We never really knew how old she was, but just recently she had lost weight and had started having problems with her eyesight, was falling down and not able to really do anything. I had to make the decision to let her go, and it was the hardest thing. I loved her to death, and I just am crying my eyes out right now as I type this.

*hugs* Never easy to let go of a loved one, regardless how long we have with them.

*hugs* I'm so sorry kansasgal, it hurts so much to lose a furbaby. I still cry for my Shandy.

(and I can't think of anything bad enough to do to someone who could treat a dog like Chrissie Miss's previous owners did)
Engaged to the sweet Mytical He is my Black Dragon (and yes, a good one) strong, protective, the guardian. I am his Silver Dragon, always by his side, shining for him, cherishing him.

Sounds more like a puppy mill than a breeder.

Take pride in that you gave her a HELL of a better life than she'd had before. She had been caged, ignored, a breeder. You - love, snuggles, potty training, good care, and LOVE. It's sad she's gone, oh yes. but you gave her a damn good life.

She's as fast as slugs on barbituates.

This. And also, my condolences for your loss. That's never an easy decision to make, and for what comfort it is, it's usually the last act of love we can offer to our furry friends.
