  • Oh, Oh, OW!

So yesterday I signed up at the local Y. Tonight I went in for Pilates class. Apparently its geared towards intermediate and advanced. NOT beginner. I kept up for the most part, but I'm paying for it.
The instructor after the class was like you have the strength, but you're really tight. Try starting out with the water aerobics then work your way to the class.(I have to have low impact exercise due to my knees, so something like water aerobics would be perfect.) I told her I was already planning on joining the tue-thurs morning water aerobics class. She told me to use heat and elevate. Then I walked a couple blocks to the bus stop and went home.

I'm so sore! Tomorrow I have an afternoon appointment with a trainer to do some weight lifting. I wonder how much pain I'll be in then. lol. I'm a glutton for punishment.

Pilates finds muscles you didn't know you had. That's why dancers love it. The soreness will go away in a week or 2. I looooved it. It was hard, but built stamina.

I always preferred Yoga to Pilates for this very reason. Yoga is relaxing and gets you in tune with your body. Pilates hurts!
I am no longer of capable of the emotion you humans call “compassion”. Though I can feign it in exchange for an hourly wage. (Gravekeeper)
