Bit young for that I think....

So back in the pool training. Loving it.

As part of the lesson I'm training in, we get the kids to do a seated freefall into the pool. I usually precede this by going "1, 2, 3, lean into me" so the kids don't end up going too close to the wall or too far AWAY from me. (it also seems to help the nervous ones)

Well one of the semi-nervous ones did the freefall by himself with that prompting. And somehow when he went down, they tend to flail a little bit and panic. I'm usually ready to catch them to get them to swim back to the wall. This one was flailing a bit and managed to grab onto something to pull himself back up...

That thing? My boobs.

I kid you not, he had grabbed onto both boobs with his hands and held on. We get him back up and onto the wall and I'm trying not to burst out laughing.

I've had a kid smack me on the boob before. I've had the kids holding on when we take them to the deep end for jumps. But that was a first! And the kid was around 4-5!

I remember one time, at the bar, a guy (who was wasted) fell over. Ge got up by reaching for the closest thing, which were the waitresses DD's.

Since this was the VFW, and he was a vet, a cab was called. She didn't mind, but refused to help anyone else in a similar situation ever again.

He really apologized the next day.

Oh and this wasn't an accidental brush of the boob, this was a full-on "I'm going to squeeze your boob" type grab.

Well I'm not too surprised, for kids still that young, Boobs are a "safe place." He was probably breast fed as a baby (which is good, more mothers should try to do this) and so connected "boob" with "SAFETY!"

That's my thought as well. But we had a giggle afterwards.

and a couple of highlights from last night (where I had a number of kids with double lessons)

-I got smacked in the face during a dive. Again, accidental. Unlike the boob grab, where I managed to keep my laughter in until after we were done, I was laughing through the rest of the kids dives for that time

-I had one kid who was great by herself in the water (i.e. she was actually meeting all the requirements to move up a level when prompted), but when it came time for backstroke and deep water work, she FREAKED. She could lie on her back and do the kicking fine, but she couldn't do it by herself. The paid instructor had a chat with her mum and the poor kid was pretty upset by the end of it. >.>

-Last class had 2 kids with learning difficulties. The kid with learning difficulties was ADORABLE.
