Labor day sucked to high hell. I was fired from the warehouse store. Apparently, I failed the evaluation period. Damn....
I wake up this morning to find out that my wife got me a job working at an after school program with the YMCA. Yay!
What a weird turn of events.

BTW, did they let you go in the morning, or let you work all day Labor Day and then let you in on the news? (It's awful that I'm so cynical, I know.)

No, they told me right away, handed me a check, and told me "Good luck."

Something weird is going on. I got the job with the after school program but it isn't giving me a lot hours. Well, one of the people I work with has a father who supervises night shift at a local factory...that needs a new overnight worker. Weekly pay, benefits, 40 hours (10/night), 3 days off.

My wife always said I have better than average luck. I'm starting to see what she's talking about.

I like to think that some jobs are just to tide you over until something better opens up a little further down the road.

I've had more than a few friends who lost jobs they thought they wanted to keep only to have a better position almost fall into their laps shortly thereafter.
