  • Blessed Mabon (Autumn) to all...

    Saying goodbye to the roses
    Saying goodbye to the flowers
    Saying goodbye to the roses
Weep fire for the year as it closes

Winter will pass like a sad slow song
Soon a new Spring will start
Nothing endures the whole year long
Save hope in the willing heart ...

(part of a poem by Margaret Mantle)

Wishing everyone a beautiful, safe, healthy autumn season!!
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

Thanks, and the same to you!

It was an absolutely beautiful day today, clear high blue sky, light breeze and perfect temperature.

And for us Aussies, I suspect it would be a happy Ostara? (I think ) since it's now Spring down here.

Thanks MoonCat, and also to you.

The overt signs started a while ago here; swallows and sandhills bailed out a couple weeks ago, twenty degree drop, maybe even a light frost. I enjoy the season, but gathering the last of the produce from the gardens is always kind of bittersweet.

We've been getting frost warnings for about a week (mostly in the western part of the state). Yesterday was absolutely wonderful weatherwise; I love this season.

it finally rained around here (first time in a long long time). I could finally stand outside and not sweat to death. I love fall and winter, especially in the Northwest.

Let's see the start of fall here was ice cold rain, getting hit in the head with hail, and a cold funnel storm warning.

Yup fall in the Great Lakes state, you know it's going to be something when it starts off like that.

Here it is gorgeous. The sky is the bluest I've ever seen, with fluffy white/grey clouds. The sun peeks out. The trees are still mostly green, but I saw some orange. It's chilly, but after the hot, humid summer, I'm OK with that. I wish my walk could've been longer, but I have to be somewhere. There's always tomorrow.

Well, good for you, but I am currently freezing my butt off, so, yeah, definitely autumn here in the "frozen north". LOL

                          I'll trade you some.

You can have, say, about 15° or so.... ?

The trees are getting some color here as well. My gourd vines are withering, the tomatoes are slowing down. Fall is here.
