  • Movie "Silver Streak"

Is anyone else a fan of this movie. To me, the funniest scene was when Wilder was with the Sheriff. The best exchange was:

Wilder: Tell them I have the Rembrandt letters.
Sheriff: Is he with the feds?
    Wilder: Who?
    Sheriff: This guy Rembrandt?
    Wilder: Rembrandt is dead!
    Sheriff: Dead? that makes 4.

The look on Wilder is priceless.

Oh, man, I haven't seen this movie in ages! I'll have to go watch it again.

I have the dvd and the only xtra feature is the original 1976 trailer. It would be great if there were deleted scenes or bloopers or even cast commentary. Problem with that is most everyone is dead.

I wonder how Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor got along off-screen? They were fantastic together on-screen.

Apparently they must have gotten along great - they did quite a few movies together around that time. I can't remember the names of most of them (give me a break, I was just a kid - but since my folks thought they were funny I got to see them). I also liked the one where they were dressed like chickens and the one where they were trying to save their church (at least I think that was the plot). *
I remember the "crash" scene in Silver Streak was a big deal stunt at the time.

        *off the imdb to check...
