  • Costume Roundup!

So, due to stupidity with my mortgage this month >_< I don't get to have a costume.

So, I wish to live vicariously through others.

    To that end:

    Show off your costumes here.

    ^-.-^

Yes, battle was epic, but Iron Man reigned supreme. Then he took Spider-man's decapitated head, attached straps to it, and carried it around, because Stark is a dick like that.

oh come on, normal clothes(maybe with a bit of dirt smudges) dark circles under the eyes(not too dark), and a bloody bandage somewhere(try to hide it a lot).

          costume=zombie victim starting to turn.

I wore the same outfit I've worn before. And I think I'm going to make myself something new for next year. It's past time I got some new SCA garb. Or I might make a more traditional Halloween-type costume. But after the third time someone stepped on my cloak and nearly strangled me, I've decided to retire it for a while.

Finally got my son's pirate costume finished.

Our apartment complex had a Halloween party last week, and he got a best costume prize!

I posted this pic in my Halloween Party thread, but here it is again b/c I love sharing.

Hubby was Lieutanant Dangle from Reno 911 ( he couldnt find the right mustache) and I was a voodoo doll. I made my costume and I think it came out great.

              I <3 Halloween.

My daughter was a zebra for trick or treating. Son decided to be a taco.

Still laughing at your hubs. It's perfect! Also, please post a pic of the taco, even if you wish to cover the face. I have to see that.

The Boy wanted to keep with his Bday theme and do Family Mario Kart. We did the Double Dash as Mario and Baby Mario.

this isn't so much Halloween, but a while back, my cousins (twins) had a 21st birthday party centred around a "Toybox" theme (i.e. come dressed as something from your toybox). Here's the list of ones I can remember:

-Sailor Moon. (well more like Sailor Moon with either Sailor Mars's shoes or Sailor Venus's shoes)
-Mario (we had 3 different Marios, the SO of one of the twins was the best one hands down)
-Lego block (me-although the "pegs" happened to be right on my boobs...)
                    -Indian (as in Cowboys and...)
                    -Raggedy Andy
                    -Old Mother Hubbard (my grandma)
                    -Tinkerbell (step-cousin)
-"Fairy" (other stepcousin in drag with his now fiancee)
-Backgammon (my cousin with the son)
-Card decks (the birthday girls: one of them had spades on her dress, the other one had clubs, their names start with S and C)
-Super "baby" (my little cousin who is now 3, he was 9 months at the time)
-"Lion" (other little cousin-this was before the now 1-year-old)
                    -Spongebob (cousin's neighbour)
                    -Office barbie (mum)
-"Rocker" Ken (I THINK was my dad)
-China doll (one of my distant cousins who is about to have a baby....she HATED the outfit and kept giving us the "I'll kill you" look when we took photos )

                    Agh, can't remember the rest!

Between Fantasy Fest and Halloween, I dressed up in quite a few costumes this year, and as soon as I can, will post pictures. It might be a few, though, as directly after Fantasy Fest, we get to deal with the Parrothead Invasion. And next week is the Power Boat Races. Busy three weeks in the Southernmost City!

In any case, here are the various costumes I donned for Fantasy Fest and Halloween, not counting days where I wore a goofy hat of some sort:

                      Fantasy Fest:
Wednesday night and Saturday day at work: Bacon.
                      Thursday night: Satan.
                      Friday night: Pirate.
                      Saturday night: Jester.

                      Halloween daytime: Wizard.
Halloween nighttime, at the Haunted Fort: Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Pictures will be coming, just give me time as I am a busy Jester, and I am still figuring out how to get my photos from the New Smart Phone to the computer.

Thanks....and now off to dress up in silly tropical garb with my Awesome Crazy Coworker at the Q for these silly Parrotheads!

No costume as I was too busy being a bit ill and tired (but everyone had a good party.)

                        However I have... cake!

We didn't manage to dress up this year thanks ot the damned storm, but I just went online and ordered 5 yards of dark forrest green 'hopsack' in wool to be made into a huldremose 'bog gown' for SCA and costume purposes.

I am going to embroider the ends so that there is around 3 inches or so of decorative fringe secured by more or less blanket stitches worked into a decorative 1 inch band of embroidery, not sure exactly what right now. Rob carved me a couple of bone birds with dangly feet as the shoulder broaches. I know there is a damned picture of one in gold online but damned if I can find it. Ill have to get the ones Rob made me out and put a pic online. I am not sure if I will tablet weave a new belt or just use my ratty old belt. I am going to have him make me a spiffy new pair of shoes because I will be in a wheel chair and not wrecking them by actually walking in mud or snow with them

found the picture of the brooch that Rob made in bone instead of metal for me:

New Jersey postponed Halloween until tomorrow.

I wasn't planning to dress up anyway, but work was supposed to do a costume contest and parade (what are we, in 3rd grade?) but they ended up shutting down until later in the day on Wednesday because of generator issues. I didn't even go back to work until Friday, and did a slightly short day because I had to wait for daylight so I could even see to take a shower, and left a little early because of the curfew around here and I had to get home before dark.

I have some candy and I'll give out what I've got if there are any trick-or-treaters tomorrow night. If not I'll take the stuff I don't want to eat into work* and keep the Junior Mints for myself.

*I got the mixed bag of SweeTarts, Laffy Taffy, Nerds, and Bottle Caps because I wanted the Bottle Caps. Took them all out (there were less of those than anything else and they didn't last long...wish I could just get a big box of Root Beer and Cola bottle caps ), and have eaten a couple boxes of Nerds but I don't really want to keep any leftovers in the house. Gonna give those out first, then Junior Mints if I need them, and I have some Peppermint Patties or I might just put up my "Sorry, out of treats" sign (given out by the complex; the other side says "Trick-or-treat here" so kids know who's actually giving out candy and those who aren't won't be bothered by ringing doorbells all night).
