  • A long boring story (with cute photos!)

So back in July, there was this Etsy shop featured on a Doctor Who fan page on FB. I immediately ran over to Etsy, and purchased from said shop, being a huge Whovian and thinking that this was an item that I absolutely, positively could not live without. The listing made it clear that the shop owner was swamped with orders, as well as being a full-time student, and so I might end up waiting over a month for my desired item.

That's ok, I can be patient! I clicked away and handed over some of my (very) hard-earned money for the sake of owning this precious thing. The proprietor sends me a very nice, very polite message and asks if it's ok that she might take a little longer, because she's got a queue already, and if I want a refund, she understands.

    Months pass.

I realize that it's been well over the two months she estimated, so I send her a brief note about how excited I am to own her creation, and would she happen to have a time frame of some sort, because I'd love to show off her bag while strutting around town doing my holiday shopping. She replies after a little while, letting me know I'm next on the board, and apologizing for how long it's taken. I'm touched by the tone of her note (it was really very sweet), and settle down patiently to wait.

Last Friday, I get the message that MY ITEM HAS SHIPPED!!!

On my way out to vote today, a lovely package was sitting in the hallway. And now, I present to all of you...

THE CUTSEY DALEK BAG! (please note the adorable messages strewn across the packaging, it really shows what an attentive artist she is. I can't say enough about how great this woman has been, even if it was twice her original estimate.) It's over a foot square, with rope handles and a ton of space inside. I expect to be able to use this bag for a very long time, and in many different contexts.

(edit: Dammit - I have NO idea why my photos are uploading on their sides. They were FINE on the pooter.)

Ahhhhhhh! Love it! I love dealing with Etsy sellers for that purpose. Most are attentive and fabulous to deal with, even when something goes awry.
