  • We control Hurricanes now?

Some items we sell are more popular with certain demographics, but not exclusive to them. Several of these items are produced by a certain manufacture based in the NYC/NJ area. It just so happened that their plant took on 5 ft of salt water from Hurricane Sandy and will have to have all it's machinery replaced.

Anyway, most customers understand this logic, however several refuse to believe us. One in particular has been told the same from every dept. employee, the dept. supervisor, Asst. Mgr., SM, DM and Corporate Office.

About three weeks ago they came in and asked for some of the items from said plant. This was when a few store still had some pre-stom inventory left over. One was literally a 5 minute drive away. We told the SC and offered to call and have them hold it, but the refused and demanded a manager. The manager offered to have someone go to the other store, get it for the SC while they waited. They refused. They "knew" we had some and were hiding it. They then stomped off and left.

Within a few days they had made enough complains as mentioned above. The DM even confirmed we weren't hiding it and told them. Since then they have visited 6-8 times to demand said product. We go they the whole routine until they demand a manager.

The last few times they blamed us for the hurricane hitting a plant we don't own and that they will never return to any of our stores. Also, that apparently means we discriminate against said demographic. That was at least 4 trips ago.

ah, but you clearly are. You weren't one of those people who slogged through the hellish weather to hammer out the very kinks in that plant. All to spite demographic. *sarcasm*

The stupid is strong with this one. I long ago gave up trying to understand the "logic" behind thinking that a store is hiding product. Besides those rare occasions when employees might want some rare item for themselves, they want to, you know, SELL things.

Of course, it makes perfect economical sense to have things stocked but hidden from customers wishing to buy them. I'm selling my car right now, but if anyone asks, it's impounded and unreachable. heh heh. They'll never know the truth.

          Fiancee: What?!
          Me: Nevermind.

These people don't have enough to do. They're spending hours they'll never get back on this crap. Pathetic.
