  • An oldie (from my first job back in 1997)

Hey guys, long time no post...(gonna try to post more on here)

Back when I was just a 15 year old who just finished 8th grade, I got my first job at a restaurant as a "bus/utility" person. I worked weekends only (due to child labor laws), usually 10-6 (sometimes I got lucky and got an 8-12 meaning I didn't blow a whole day )

There's one customer I used to encounter working the 8-12 shift - I forget his name but boy was he a jerk. He was an older fellow who actually lived down the street from my parents' house (we had access to a back alley) and this guy (and/or his wife) would call the cops on me anytime i rode my moped or go-kart on the street (not on his property by any means). His wife passed and he moved into a small apartment near the restaurant, which is why he was there every morning. I don't think he remembered who I was though when he was at the restaurant.

Every morning, he would just walk in, and seat himself at a booth. Didn't matter if there was a line, he would just cut the line. If his booth was dirty he would go grab a busboy (most of the time it was me) and demand his booth be cleaned immediately. This went on all the time and spineless management wouldn't do anything about him. He was just plain nasty to everyone working there and thought he was above everyone else).

When I encounter people like this, I'm just thankful that MY life isn't so miserable that I have to make everyone around me miserable as well.
