  • I'm not allowed a lunch break anymore

bad things happen every time I take one. Last night I after I got back from break we had a lost child crisis, tonight when I got back from break the entire hotel property management system had crashed (like the on call IT person can't even connect to the server to try to fix it crashed).
So now I'm not allowed to take breaks because they somehow cause things to break

Holy shit, that sounds bad, that the IT person couldn't even connect.

Reminds me of when I'd take my law-mandated 15 and 30 minute breaks at the bullseye. The front end would literally go to shit when I wasn't cashiering.
If anyone breaks the three pint rule, they'll be running all night to the pisser and back.

When Smiley's out to lunch... things get *really* wierd.

Wait until something breaks and then take your lunch? Nah... will never work!
I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi

Then nothing would ever go wrong, except you going hungry. Perhaps eating on site instead of going out?
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

            I am on site
Seriously, we aren't allowed to leave the property during our lunch (it's a paid lunch, so I guess if they want me to stay on site, I can live with that). This is the difference between me sitting at the desk and me being upstairs in the breakroom.

Of course - that's why they're called "breaks" instead of "fixes".

Well I have two different positions at my employer. Primarily, I take clothing orders over the phone, which I do from the comfort of my home. I also on occasion work the front desk at either our phone center or distribution center, which of course I have to drive 25 miles to get to. Even better, is that I generally work the front desk on those 2-10pm shifts.

Being that I live in Wisconsin, without fail, if I have to drive in to work the front desk, Mother Nature decides that it's time for a blizzard or ice storm.
