One of my pet peeves is people who allow their children to act like hellions. Oddly, this was an opposite case. This customer had two kids, about 5 and 3, boy and girl. As she was making her return at my counter, Her little boy stepped over to the water fountain next to the register for a drink. his mother, FLIPPED OUT. She grabbed his arm, yanked him away, and screamed "I TOLD YOU TO STAND STILL! DO YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DISOBEY ME? I'LL BEAT YOUR ASS! AND THEN THAT LADY (meaning me) WILL CALL CHILD SERVICES! AND tHEY'LL TAKE YOU AWAY FOR BEING SUCH A BAD KID!" She shoved him back over to the register, and continued her transaction. At my counter there is a phone that auto dials the catalog center. The little girl picked up the phone, and the boy gently took it from her and hung it back up. again, mom FLIPS OUT! she turns to me and DEMANDS that i call the security guard to arrest her son for touching things he shouldn't touch. I told her that i was not going to do that. "Well, you aren't being very helpful! I'm trying to discipline this brat!" (her words, not mine!) I told her very firmly that her children were her own problem and that i was not about to waste the Security guard(who we don't have)'s time by calling him over something like this. And that she could leave and go have herself a nice day .
bonus dumb person of the day. A guy came in with a $50 Anthracite's cash. he says, i quote, "like, it says cash so that means i can like, use it anywhere right? like.... uh... at a gas station?"
