  • Easter Plans

It's slow here at the tax place, right now.

My plans: My BIL and his new GF are coming over. I plan to grill a leg of lamb along with some asparagus. Mrs. TGK requested scalloped pototoes (I found a recipe from scratch) on the menu.

So what are your Easter plans?
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Church service tonight (big Easter candlelight vigil), sleeping in tomorrow.

Oh, and just finished about 4 straight hours of Cards Against Humanity. Because that's totally prep for church, right?

Well, it gives you something to be forgiven for, so that counts, right?

Kabe and I are going to church tonight if he can get off work early enough. Otherwise we'll go to 11:30 tomorrow.

Doctor Who will be on tonight, probably thanks to our DVR (which I will destroy if it doesn't record!). And checking out Orphan Black and the Nerdist.

Tomorrow is continue trying to get my body to actually rest and dinner with Kabe's mom and sister. Oh, and continue LoTR extended edition.

We're having the nerdiest Easter ever

Go to my sister's place for lunch. After that I'll go to Canterbury park, which is on the way home, and play poker.

I gave up meat for all of Lent, not just Fridays, so my Easter plan is to EAT ALL THE MEAT!!!

I'm also going to attempt to make a pizza rustica (filled with ALL THE MEAT!!!), but that has to wait until Monday since I'm working this weekend and just don't have time.

Also playing Tomb Raider because I just acquired that game a few days ago and yeah.

If all goes well, it will be church in the morning, perhaps lunch, and then in the evening...

A quiet day is planned here. Going off to a party tonight a friend got baptised, first communion and confirmed last night as a catholic. (i didn't realise you could all do all 3 in foul swoop as an adult). It a bit of a combined party for that, his and his wife's birthday and Easter. It should be an interesting night.

I'm gonna braise a couple of racks of ribs and use the braising liquid to make a sauce out of, and depending on the weather, maybe finish them on the grill...

I'm in the choir at church so I will be getting up early for that. We have to be there at 8:00AM to practice for the 9:15 service. I just hope my voice comes back from its leave of absence. Otherwise I might be singing with the altos instead of the sopranos.

After church, I plan on cooking a ham with all the fixings. Should make a nice lunch.

Recovering from our annual Holy Saturday trip to the Broadway Market. Seriously, that place is a madhouse on the day before Easter (and a lot of fun, but boy was it packed....)

Eating chocolate (not too much as I have bloodwork coming up next Tues and I don't want them to say "What the hell have you been eating?"). Polish sausage for dinner, strawberry-custard pastry ring for dessert. Oh, and I want to finish reading Cold Days (assuming I don't finish it tonight).
