  • Your "perfect" customer?

I was going to put this in the games part, but I can't post there for some reason.

Anyway, if you could describe your "ideal" customer, what would it be?

And, to get more challenging, if you could design an "ideal" company, what would the hierarchy look like? What would the managers do? Have fun with it. Anything you can think of, from what you'd sell, to how you'd handle complaints, to policies you'd have...go wild!

I had what I considered three perfect customers, but I don't think that's what you were looking for. :P

But a perfect customer...polite, common sense, etc...all the obvious things that SCs AREN'T.

To me a perfect customer is someone who's pleasant and patient, speaks clearly, asks intelligent questions, knows what they want, doesn't make crazy demands or insulting comments about me, my employer or other people, makes notes of things like prices, and has a sense of humor (and not the snarky, sarcastic kind).

Most of that goes for managers, too. I think I've had maybe 3 at most in my 34 years at that place who had more than one of those qualities. And never all at the same time.
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

My perfect customer would have a tad bit of logic, a lot of patience, and smarter then the nearest doorknob.

I actually have a good business plan, but not the skills OR the money to make it happen (the sign of a good boss is to know their own limitations).

It is a website, funded by donations. It would have licensing from Wizards of the Coast, Champions, Vampire the Masquerade, and other rpgs. People would log on in avatar form, into a central hall with many doors. It would be a canteena like, stools, etc. Each door would lead to a different game. In the game rooms there would be a long wooden table, surrounded by chairs.

People could choose to be 'outside' the game going on (watch dice rolls, etc), or inside (see what the characters see and their appearance in the game would be a second avatar, customizable.

It would basically be a social sight were people from all over the world could come and play TABLE TOP type games. Including yes, card games (MTG, etc). It would take a whole lot more talent then I possess, seeing as I can't even draw .

Of course I would need 'Moderators' to handle trouble makers. And each 'GM' would be able to set up a 'Not allowed' list of people who could not come into their games (or even set who COULD come in). Mostly players who volunteer, until the website started making money.

Wow. Your perfect customer should be the easiest to describe, Seraph. Just take your usual client's exact opposite attributes.

Me? In retail at least, something along the lines of :

            (Presents goods.)
M: "Anything else for you today?"
            C: "No thanks."
            M: "$14.83 please."
            (Presents working/sufficient payment.)
            (Receives change.)
M: "Thanks, have a good one."
            C: "You too."
            (Exits stage left.)

Sadly, that's all it would take to make me happy. Minimal, polite interaction to exchange goods/services for money.

From what I understand, games are supposed to be starter here in Off Topic, and if it gets enough of a following, the Mods will move it to the Games forum. That's why you can't post a "New Thread" in that forum.

As for my "Perfect Customer", I'm pretty easy in that regard.

              - Someone who is polite.

Yep, that's it. I don't care if you are complaining about something or anything else. If you are polite, you win.
