  • One of those Days

So, my new (and awesome) job involves going to pick up doggies in the morning, taking them to our doggie daycare, and then driving them back home in the afternoon.

Today was my first day by myself in the van.

I managed to lock myself out of the van because someone removed the spare key from the lanyard that we use for said spare key. The magnetic case that held a second spare key had somehow fallen off from the wheel well.

There was one dog in the van (which was running with AC on, and he had water so he'd be good for a while) and it was the one dog we have that gets anxious in vans. Luckily, he was on meds to calm him down for van trips.

I ended up waiting about an hour and a half for Triple-A to show up and pop the door open. - I felt like a dick calling them again and again for updates on their ETA, it made me think of "Customer Standard Time." >_<

On top of that, I don't have the entire route memorized just yet (I have segments, but not everything). It was raining today, so the GPS kept losing connection to the satellites. While yes, I could just do the good old "MapQuest" style navigation, I hated (and still hate) it because it takes my eyes off the road.

Was way late with the dogs, tired, and wet.

Manager C called me while I was still waiting to see how things were going and to reassure me that I was not in trouble for it occurring - apparently it is the christening of their van people to lock themselves out at least once. Big Boss also reassured me it was all fine, and that I should just relax and breathe. (Also, apparently BB would lock herself out of the van at least once a month.)

During this, friend texts me to ask if I want to see the new Star Trek movie. I said yes because I totally needed it. Half an hour before movie time, I am informed by another friend going to said movie that "Hey, the movie is starting in half an hour..." (and neither of us have had dinner because first friend didn't inform us off the exact time of the movie until... oh, 30 minutes prior to movie start). Which is pretty par for the course when first friend is the one in charge of planning, he tries but usually fails.

Oh well, at least the movie was totally rocking.

    My Writing Blog -Updated 05/06/2013
It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.

If cast isn't chewing the carpet the audience should?

At least your bosses were cool knowing it happens to everyone... Including them!
