So I thought it'd be kinda cool to share your favourite apps from whatever device/s you own. Might get some more people interested as well. So here's my list of favourite apps at the moment (on my iPad):
Useful Stuff:
Show Me/Explain Everything: Similar concept. Basically it lets you take a photo or draw something on the screen, then you can record your voice at the same time. I use it for fun at the moment, but I've used it on pracs to allow my students who had literacy difficulties to record their presentation rather than having to write everything down.
Gmail: Self explanatory. Now I can respond to emails on the run.
imo: Currently my IM client on there and I LOVE IT. So easy to use.
Feedly: I use this at the moment for my RSS feeds (yes Customers Suck is on there too ) since I had trouble with the last feed client I put on there. Word of advice folks: feedly is the BEST. You can also connect it with Google Reader too.
Drawing Pad and Art Set: Two very different apps, but same premise. Drawing pad is a tad more kid-friendly, while Art Set is more realistic. I personally love Drawing Pad at the moment with the new updates...just need to work out how to use my stylus correctly!
Pokedex for iOS: Yes, this is technically a "useful" thing. If you play Black/White/Black 2/White 2, you'll find this very easy to handle. It currently has all the Unova Pokemon, but you can buy packs for the other Pokemon as well. It is VERY thorough though, giving you information such as type, weaknesses, attacks, evolutions, abilities (and what they do), moves...it even lets you select the move and show what it does and how it affects other types. (ie how a normal-type move affects a rock-type)
Games!
Candy Crush Saga: Ohhh dear god, I officially regret putting Candy Crush on my iPad. SO....damn.....addictive! I can never look at chocolate the same way again after seeing it invade my screen so quickly. But at the same time, I can't stop playing it!
Tapped Out: As I've mentioned, I've had some issues with this app in the past, where I've played and then it's killed my account completely for no reason whatsoever. Here's hoping it'll keep THIS one.
Fashion Star Boutique/Fashion Studio: Again, similar concept (you get given a generic form, you choose what pattern you want on the item of clothing), but it is so much fun creating items. You also have to guess what the client wants. With Fashion Studio you can enter yourself in shows (since a nmber of the clients want paid stuff >_<), while Fashion Star Boutique allows you to create items for clients and play "Guess What The Client Wants"
Robot Unicorn Attack 2: Yes, you know it, you love it, it's BACK on the iPad! They had to remove "Always" though for copyright reasons, but you can buy it on the iTunes store. you also get to customise your unicorn to make him/her have a flaming mane and poop rainbows
Jetpack Joyride: Another "endless run" game, this one has missions where you do things like "zap <x> number of scientists" (yes that's a mission). The missions themselves can get a tad repetitive after a while, but like Robot Unicorn Attack, you can customise your guy. So your jetpack can spew out anything from rainbows to fruit. (Yes, fruit.)
The Sandbox: This game is pixel-based. You get given a whole bunch of elements and you have to play God with them. There is some element of physics in there...for instance, whenever you put soil/sand/stone down to create a lake, then put water in, the water will actally go up into the sky and start creating clouds. (No Big Man in The Sky though)
Let's Make Pottery!: This game is also quite entertaining. Like some of the other games, you have orders you need to fill for clients. There is a challenge though...because you're working with clay, you need to get the colour and shape juuuuuuust right. You can also make your own vases/bowls/jugs and sell them. You can even go ahead and have them re-made for you in 3D.
And finally...
Little Inferno And World Of Goo: you already know how fantastic these games are. World of Goo works WONDERS on the iPad. Soooo much better.
