  • That was a threat?

Customer wants to buy a prepay phone card, upset phones battery is dead and wont be able to provide the phone number, told phone doesn't need to be operational for us to sell him the card, a pin that he can input on his phone at his convenience will be provided.

Quizzical look appears and demands that clerk enter the code for him as they did it before (phone will need to be charged), told if customer flows allows or the person shows some incapacity this is provided as a courtesy but is not part of the selling of the card, reminded he can call his carriers customer service number for help or read the instruction manual that came with his phone

(I would love to hit the auto parts, buy oil and a filter and demand the clerk to change my oil since I 'don't know how and never done it before'). threaten the clerk with "if you're not going to do it for me then I'm not buying the card" told "ok" by the clerk, upon hearing this get a triumphant glimmer, fail to notice clerk voiding the sale, proceed to stand triumphantly by the register waiting for the clerk to ring up the sale, after a couple of minutes realize clerk is no longer paying any attention to you and is now helping other customers that had been waiting patiently and are buying real merchandise thats brings real revenue to the store and the clerk (commission).

Stomp out realizing 'ok' was an affirmation the interaction was mutually completed and not ok=you win, customers buying real merchandise and bringing real revenue are not as important as a lazy douchewaffle.

I cannot understand how anyone can "not know how" to do this. I use a prepaid phone like that, it's so simple to enter the code even a moron should be able to do it. What a goof.

See, there's the problem. You over-estimated the SC's intelligence.

Alternatively, you assumed the customer posessed any intelligence. I personally believe these are the percentage that would be taken care of swiftly if The Purge ever achieves documentary status.

          We should be so lucky...
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
