I'm currently working to get my A+ (halfway there, got my core hardware June 6th) and I can tell you, you can make more money with an A+ than with just any comp class.

I think I'll stay where it's (mostly) safe and finish up all my Desktop Publishing type stuff and some Library Science

wow, Desktop Publishing. I'm not going to say what I learned desktop publishing with. Most folks here probably never heard of it.

A+ certification is a very nice plus. Will help get you in the front door at least.

Unless you're planning to work in a lab creating the next new processor/drug/toy, most of the time it really don't matter what your degree is in. Most companies just want you to have a degree. (I'm talking non-science related fields.)

My old company hired someone that didn't have a computer science degree, to be lead programmer because he had some experience and he had a degree. Of course this dude was one of the most suckiest coworker on the planet.

I like using Word...I dont have a job right now, but for fun I've been organizing crochet patterns a friend of mine writes and posts for free online. She's probably got about 30 or more patterns written so far. I've been slowly copy/pasting each pattern into Word and am trying to put the patterns into book form. When I'm done I'm going to email her the file, and I'm also going to print it out for her.

So far it's just for fun, but I almost wouldnt mind a job that involved publishing and editing. I'm going to go back to school this fall and try to get a degree in publishing or library science. (local community college...I'm too poor for a real university) It's slow going tho...I have a hard time with school. (ADHD) If I take more than 2 classes at a time, I'll end up doing good in one, but flunking the others.

This guy also had LOADS of porn on his computer, as well as...*ahem* pictures from his trip to the Phillipenes.
I do hope you're allowed to report him if it's the kind of "pictures" I'm thinking you mean ......

And please, pass the brain bleach...took me a couple seconds but when I got it....jeepers it hit me like a train.

No, it wasn't anything obviously illigeal (Like 10-year-old prostitots or something). If it WAS, I would have reported him right then, given the HD to the cops AND imaged it just in case that one got lost/destroyed.

                  You think that's bad?

A friend of mine was once a janitor for a university. He got to clean the (community) dorm bathrooms. He told me that he was usually cleaning knuckle babies out of the drains daily.

You know, I'm no longer really surprised by some of the disgusting things people do. I AM, however, still surprised at what they'll ADMIT to...
