Has anyone else seen this show? I just discovered it tonight on Tru TV and it is AMAZING. These people handle SCs like champs - if an SC starts getting mouthy or abusive, they get tossed out on their ass by some of the biggest body guards I've ever seen. It's wonderful to see them outside the store cursing up a storm because they didn't get their way.

For anyone who wants to see an SC get owned, watch Hardcore Pawn.

I've watched a lot of the episodes online. Isn't it incredible when they break it to a woman that her earrings/bracelet/rings are fake and they can't buy them and these woman start SCREECHING "YES THEY ARE GIVE ME MAH MONEY!!!" Um, it's not YOUR money yet! Sometimes they have to be physically carried out of the store; one lady retaliated by peeing in the parking lot! It's like they believe that the store is somehow obligated to buy their stuff; they don't seem to understand that it's a business and not a money lender or hand-out. But the employees have also gone above and beyond to help people who really have fallen on hard times too.

I love that show. I love the people who think they can stand there and say "I DARE you to throw me out!" even as two huge guys walk up behind them. Um, yes they can, and oh look! They are. How about that? The other night when I watched some lady was saying "I'm not leaving until you give me $100!" for some Journey tickets with no price on them. That's not how it works, sweetie. Bye now!

What drives me crazy are the owner's two spoiled brat children who also work there. They both need a good smack upside the head.

It's also funny how people walk in there with stuff they know is junk and expect to pull a fast one. People, there's a thing called the INTERNET that businesses can use to look up items and see if they're worthless.

I also saw an episode where a guy brought in a necklace claiming it was sterling silver, and the employee ran it under a machine to see what metals were in it. When she told him it was actually iron and nickel, the guy started yelling and saying her machine was wrong. Um, no. No, I think the machine is right and you're just being a jackass. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Draper, the kid's are why I stopped watching the show. They weren't bad at first but now they argue about everything (especially the son) because they want to be one to run the place when Daddy croaks. (I don't believe he will ever retire.) I think if he wants to run his own store so much he has do what Junior did on American Chopper. I just want to scream if you're so much better OPEN YOUR OWN PLACE!

That is one of my new favorite shows, actually 1 of a couple of them on TruTV like Operation Repo and South Beach Tow. Though those shows can't be called reality shows, since it has been said that they are reality based shows, where things are scripted but based on actual events. Nonetheless I enjoy it and liek when they handle a SC

Been there with the boyfriend. Bought a laptop from there. Snuggled to boyfriend later to see old owner of laptop crying that her laptop was gone and sold. Awwwww.

I don't know if this applies so much to you guys over in the US, but the show is aired down here as well. Because "pawn" and "porn" sound so similar to me in an Aussie accent, every time the commercial comes on for Hardcore Pawn, I keep hearing it as Hardcore Porn. The channel it airs on IS meant to be geared towards men, but still!

... I keep hearing it as Hardcore Porn.

The best ones I find are when the store staff tells them to leave and the customer then says "I'm not leaving until I get paid for this!"

A tip for those people. Ransom demand only work if the target actually WANTS what your ransoming.

Yes, and then they expect to get retail! Um, no, the pawn shop is a for profit business. They're going to buy it from you at a price that will allow them to make money on it. If you want retail, sell it on Ebay.

I do kinda wonder if part of it is fake... mainly how well the "SC" customers sound - as if they're wearing mics.

and i do recognize some of the video tricks they use - like when some SC starts having a melt-down they show clips of everyone turning to watch, as if they're watching that SC. when in fact they could just be turning to watch some camera man waving his/her arms around saying "ok look now!"

and ... i do kinda think ashley is a bit of a bitch... but it's their store. she can do that if she wants. (o i thought she was his wife, that's his daughter? oops) and i also understand that they see a lot of scam bullshit so yeah that's gonna make them jaded.

Although i'm confused on one part. i saw a clip where an employee got fired for putting something online or trying to put it online. what's the big deal about putting something online? I mean i'm not saying they shouldn't have fired her if she disobeyed orders... i'm just not sure what's significant about the orders to begin with.

Iirc, she was listing it online because she was going to buy it from the store and pocket the profit herself. Owner doesn't like others to make money off his store's work.
