Actually, there are two books out called Jennifer Has Two Daddies and Heather Has Two Mommies by Priscilla Galloway. She has some fantastic books, but I don't think I'll be purchasing either of those for my classroom or my own children.

Jennifer Has Two Daddies was written by Galloway, but what it's about is a little girl who has divorced parents, and she has a Dad and a Stepdad whom she loves.

Heather Has Two Mommies is by Alyson Wonderland. I agree with you that its not necessarily appropriate for classroom use. But books about non-traditonal families can be very useful tools for chilldren who live in those types of families and have questions. This one, however, is not particularly well written, it's just famous because it was the first.

This book, for example, is much better and a friend of mine who works at a preschool says the kids adore it and request it regularly:

Because as we all know, on the Internet all men are men, all women are men and all children are FBI agents.
