Default One more week...

Have to use my 3rd and last week of vacation. Mainly because if I walk for more then 2 blocks a day I get 6-8 hours of muscle spasms that keep me up till 4am.

So now I'm not back to work till next week.

Kill me.

Nah, then I wouldn't get your vitriolic bitter posts when you do return, the phrase 'cutting off my nose in spite of my face' springs to mind.

I'm so sorry for you GK. It's got to be rough.

Also, while I like the new kitty, I enjoyed the day or two of the evilish headset avatar.

Finally, I keep getting this mental image of a forlorn, anguished, mustachioed 867er sitting in a bedroom replete with every pink camo article of cloth known to man dialing your number and then hanging up when "her" hats/pants guy doesn't answer.

I'm sure she misses you almost as much as we do.

Is this like 3 weeks of PTO, or 3 weeks unpaid?

I feel for you. Shit like this always happens at the worst time. At least you had "oh shit" savings. I wish I were more practical like that.

Well, I have one bit of good news. My mom has offered to purchase said feline companion for me. As she feels A) I could really use the company right now in my maimed state and B) I could really use the company right now in my maimed state.

It shall also be a shelter kitty. There's a Petcetera near my mom that has a section where the SPCA hosts cats for adoption. My mom always goes by to visit the cats whenever she's there and says she's seen some really nifty felines there ( Both in looks and personality ). She actually wanted to do this for me 2 weeks ago when I was back home seeing the family doctor, but I didn't have permission from my landlady then.

So between the option of shelling out big $, being on a waiting list and not being able to meet said kittens before choosing one vs being able to go and meet all the cats to find the right one. The latter option wins out.

Right now, with me going on 3 weeks not working, it will be a few months before I could afford a cat from a cattery and then after checking with the brit shorthair breeders, probably a waiting list of anywhere from 1-3 months just to get a pick of a litter. They're small catteries and good ones so they don't overbreed.

So 4-6 months of no feline minion vs feline minion by the weekend. I'm definitely going to go with feline by the weekend. I need the company. -.-

I drew that as kind of a 10 minute self portrait when I was messing with my Cintiq the other day, hehe.

I found the most godsend of a product at the drug store. A 6 hour ice/numbing pad that sticks to your back. It's fantastic. ><

I have x amount of vacation pay. The longer you go without taking a vacation the more it accumulates. I've already used up all my savings by taking this long off unfortunately but at the same time I haven't picked up my pay cheque for the shifts I did work before getting hurt. I should have one week's pay from right before I left plus vacation pay. Overall I'll probably be out $750-$800 as a worst case estimate. $400 as a best case estimate.

I've basically been living entirely off my "Oh shit" savings which, thank god, was able to cover my rent and bills and still leave me a couple hundred to avoid starving. It'll be a rough month or two after this to get back on track though. =/
