Default And This is Why I Hate Ebay

Just took a hit with a negative feedback because the buyer stated the card I sold him wasn't in mint condition, and that my description was vague.

I guess this wasn't enough?

Quote:
This is for a rare Dark Charizard card from the Team Rocket set, #4/82. The card is in very good condition, near mint condition, as it is slightly curved. Some "therapy" involving flattening between heavy books will fix that right up.
I mean, I stated right there, black and white, NOT MINT CONDITION, and even marked down all the issues wrong with it.

I just messaged him about it, asking why the negative feedback without even contacting me, and pointing out that the auction clearly stated the card's condition quite well. I doubt he'll revise it, but oh well.

eBay is really starting to suck.

We should all pool our money together and start a competing site.

Do you want to design the web interface?

Yes, it is. I too have gotten negative feedback from sucktomers who couldn't be bothered to read the item description, or are oh so upset that I can't mail an item from the US to Outer Mongolia overnight for $1.00 s/h. And of course, sellers are not allowed to leave negative feedback on buyers (though I have seen some leave a positive with a comment like, "NEGATIVE! Took two weeks to pay and tried to nickel-and-dime me!"). Nice even playing field, eh?

I wouldn't mind an alternative, but eBay is far too well known and other sites are too often targeted by scammers, spammers and other creeps.

There'll be a new site based in the CS.com town ( a.k.a Rapsville)

...for free, of course. What? It's not like it takes much effort!
(sarcasm, obviously. )

To be honest... there's been quite a few times where I wish they would Fire at Will!

I buy on ebay but have never sold. I had no idea that sellers couldn't even leave negative feedback for a buyer. How stupid is that??? That policy is only going to encourage repeat, multiple sc's. Makes me really feel sympathetic to the sellers.
that happened because some sellers abused the system and started flagging buyers in revenge for complaining - even if it was a valid complaint.

i think you can publicly respond to the feedback but whether that works for or against you depends on what you say, and how readers interpret it.

She then bid on a bunch of maternity clothes I had, I was able to retract her bid. A week later she tried to bid on the fertility monitor again.
and i cannot figure this one out. why would she big on items only to return or cancel them... and then bid on them again? unless of course she's crazy? or just trying to punish you for something?

but yes... blocking the bad ones is a good idea. because once you block them, if they make new accounts to circumvent your block ... you can contact ebay with a harassment claim iirc. if some of the whines - i mean letters - over at PFB/M3c are correct, ebay does disable your account for doing this.

I used to sell on eBay fairly regularly, but I only do it now when I have to sell something quickly. I have gotten screwed a few times, and I'm sick of it. eBay won't back you up.

I still buy some items on eBay, but they've become the last resort.

And they wonder why their business is way down.

I would insist on a SC rule. Given the evidence that you provided in tis case, I would find the buyer guilty of being an SC and sentence him to a public flogging. As CS.com is opposed to violence against customer, the flogging would be done with a wet noodle. However, the video will be posted on YouTube, and hopefully this person would become a laughing stock.
