I didn't do it.

So last night, at ~2:30 am I get a call from one of the rooms.

Guest (slurring): Manager.
Me: I'm sorry.
Guest (more slurring): Manager
Me: May I ask what this is about.
Guest (slurring): Is the manager there.
Me (looking right at the GM): I'm sorry, it's 2:30am, the manager is not available.

After a little back and forth, he tells me why he wants to talk to the manager. Apparently, there was a sexual assault of some sort that they were being accused of, and they wanted us to know they didn't do it.

At ~4am I got another call from the same room, which was basically a repeat of the previous call.

At 6am I had 2 State Troopers come in responding to a complaint. In fact, the exact complaint that the guest was pleading innocent to.

I was very cooperative.

I have to wonder what this guy is thinking. "I talked to the manager. He agreed that I didn't do it, so you can't arrest me."

I'm going with "This guy never grew past the play yard," and sticking with that for sanity's sake. He's pulling the "Maybe if I tattle first and say I didn't do it, it will override whatever the other person is going to say! The adults will always believe the first one that reports it, right?" (This also explains how many managers and HRs work.)

Sorry, dude, that doesn't work with possible sexual assault. You're just going to have to deal with the nice time out that the guys with the shiny bracelets give you. Then we'll see what happens.

To be fair, we don't know the whole story. There is the possibility that this guy actually didn't do anything, and as being falsely accused for some reason or other.

Don't get me wrong, the odds say that this guy is a lecherous scumbag asshole....but I do want people to remember that an ACCUSAL is not the same as a CONVICTION.

That's a very good point.

I've seen some accusals that were true and some that were revenge.
