  • A Little Something About Courage

Today I saw a spider in the living room. Usually when this happens I run to another room and peek in until the spider has vanished, hopefully to find its way out of my house.

But this spider was a collision course with my son.

I grabbed a paper towel and killed that sucker good.

I felt like Ripley in "Aliens".

Has anyone else done anything unusually brave lately?

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a gigantic roach crawling across the floor (we get those great big suckers that come up through the drains here in Texas in the summer.) Usually I get my husband to deal with them, but he was at work at the time and I didn't want this thing (which was bigger than my thumb) running around the house all afternoon. So I grabbed a broom and swatted it...and then swatted it again. And then it stopped moving and I sucked it up with the vacuum cleaner.

My husband was so proud of me.
