    I know some adults that suck at spelling but to not be able to spell piece..*cringe*

      Most people do, hell, even I do. But its still one of those exceptions where there are multiple correct ways to spell it. Tomatoe is also a correct spelling where most people use tomato.

          Well, of course, there are exceptions, but it helps as a general rule to try to remember...and certainly would work for "piece."

            Maybe it'll become a new fad. People can't speak very good English, but will be able to recite ridiculous words like onomatopoeia, but won't be able to spell piece.

              Or even easier - "I want a PIEce of PIE." (Thanks to my 3rd grade teacher!)
